I’m not hating halo for any stupid reasons but I don’t enjoy halo as much as I did. I’m still obsessed with the lore but the games are starting to dip in variety and customization.
halo 5 is not bad its a great game but I’m already bored of it nothing to really pull me in
you aren’t guaranteed good armour and most of them aren’t bulky like they were
the reason I played halo reach a lot was because of the credit system before bungie broke the system cause I could get armour that I wanted instead of hoping I would
ive been playing halo most of my life
miss the good times of mixing individual pieces of armour one of the things that kept me playing
idk I’m feeling like halo is dying right now; don’t play it as long as I used to
probably sound like a massive baby but
starting to feel like halo died with bungie
idk could just be because of my depression but yeah
pop another xanax, you’ll be fine
What you feel is actually really normal.
Many of us enjoyed the older mechanics and systems much more. Not because of nostalgia or any other silly reason. We just genuinely found the older games more fun.
I personally find no enjoyment or reward in opening REQ cards. I find no enjoyment in playing the same three gametypes again and again. As much as like love forge and the options it brings to editing maps to make them better and bringing in new maps quickly for free, I don’t enjoy having every map I play on in BTB being a forge map.
As much as I love Halo I can’t force myself to enjoy a game designed in such a way that is at odds with my personality and the way I enjoy games. Halo 5 doesn’t appeal to us. I prefer Credits for Armour Unlocks, I find it simpler and more engaging. I prefer 1-50 for ranking, I find it simpler and more engaging. I prefer the classic gameplay, I find it simpler and again, more engaging. And I especially prefer to have a game that has enough content and variety at launch to last for 3 years, not just enough content to last a month for the next update.
Like I said, it’s normal to feel disappointed and bored already, the fact that Halo 5 is constantly off the top ten says that many are already bored.
I actually had fun on halo 4. I know many halo fans didn’t like halo 4 but my “PERSONAL OPINION” I like it. I have to agree, Halo 5 messed up big time… i have to “FORCE” my self to play it vs making me obsessed to go play it. More and more reviews i watching on youtube about halo 5 banning splitscreen. I’m starting to believe they did it to get a cash in from people to buy two games and two consoles. Transactions crap really shows were 343i is really going towards. They are looking for the $ instead of the fan base and fun factor. If you want fun, give us more money attitude. First I couldn’t believe it but now I actually am starting to believe it more when 343i is IGNORING it fans. Halo is dying, i agree, it isn’t has fun as it use to be… I give 343i this… the multiplayer online is amazing. How long is it going to last? The game launch in October right . if I can remember. I got the game in November with a new xbox one and everything… I was going to get 2 more xbox one for my friends after they test out the game with me
did this happen? nope. because they took out split screen. I told my friends its not worth getting a xbox one right now. in my opinion microsoft and 343 lost money from this decision. From hearing from fans, i know they have. All we get is more Silence then something to make up from this decision , More map packs, forge and weapon skins? no , dont give me something that should of been in halo 5 in the beginning. Halo 4 a “343i game” had all of these factors in that game at launch. Halo 5 is faliure and instead of 343i ignoring the fan base and the hate with love. They should knowledge it’s problems and give the fan base split screen campaign dlc attachment like “dead rising 2case zero” or “far cry 3 blood dragon” do a off mission or missing missions from master chief or something. But we got nothing and company asking more transactions for armor and weapon skins… Amazing . dont get me wrong… I love Halo, I want Halo to be the best and I do not care about any other console but xbox. This is so broken right now between 343i and the fans. it’s a shame
I wish to to have the customization back
Halo isn’t really dying, it’s just nowhere near as popular as it was before. It never will be, because things have just…changed. It isn’t 2004 anymore, time we accepted that.
As far as armour goes, they could do a better job of making it accessible. Unfortunately, their current model simply makes them more money, so I can’t see them going back to their own ways. A lot of games do armour/outfit packs these days, instead of giving you the option to earn them in game, like they used to. It’s all about the money.
In a way it is dying, the old form of Halo that many of us know and love is dying off. If you haven’t noticed the art style and designs have changed immensely. The fact they had originally replaced rockets with that green tube before bringing back the classic demonstrates this perfectly.
Halo is changing

Bungies Halo is gone, I love the old games, and we can still play them, Halo has changed forever, I said that when Halo 4 was released, and it’s not bad either in my opinion, just different, with selectable European servers and a bit more content Halo 5 would be just about perfect for me.
Nope , the game just keep getting better and better

And that’s the real issue. It’s not about it not being 2004 and accepting that. It’s about the consumer and fans being striped of systems they found fun and enjoyed because Devs and Pubs found a system that makes them more money. Also buying extra outfits is so much different from buying a REQ pack that gives you a chance at unlocking content that is already obtainable through the game.
Certain games work well with those kinds of features (though most of those games don’t come with a $60+ entry fee). But when you are paying up front, you expect everything behind that pay wall to be smooth and fun. Back in 2004, 2007, and 2010 (and even 2012 in this instance) everything you got with your initial purchase came designed with the idea that it was complete at launch. Features were designed to keep you playing for a long time through pacing the content you unlocked and experienced over time. Now things are designed to be hard to obtain. It’s a grind, not even backed up by a wealth of content to enjoy while you grind. It’s designed this way the same way old Arcade games were designed. They wanted you to fail and spending more money is the most enjoyable way to experience the game.
This is what I mean. It’s not about nostalgia. It’s about the very way the current games are designed.
I’m really enjoying h5 right now and the updates that are coming just shows that they are putting new stuff out for the game and that there is only more to come
there is still hope on halo wars 2
343 needs to learn from halo reach

To be fair, Halo’s been falling in popularity since way before microtransactions. It’s unfair to blame it on then.
I think it is that it just isn’t 2004 (or 2007 for that matter) anymore and accepting it.
I can live with the ugly armor and the luck based req system but the game is just boring… Almost no vairety, no infection, no dubs, nothing.
343i doesnt even say anything.

What do you mean? As in following what it did or not following it? H4 did follow it and it was kind of bad in many ways.
Call me evil, I just recently downloaded halo online (US) to my PC and boy oh boy, just for an modded alpha build it just feels so good to have halo 3 on PC with Halo 4 armor design and weapons with the option of sprint toggle and descope… I haven’t really played an official match yet with friends because in order to host a match you have to set up port forwarding for a server, but just going in forge looking at all the weapons, and knowing I can mod this game and have AI’s on the map along with dedicated servers coming sometime soon with armor abilities and duel wielding AND the PC community so we can make are content - all for free
Makes me wanna shoot rainbows out of my eyes from all the enjoyment =)
Don’t let a run-down game that carriers so much useless micro transactions, lacks so much variety, online restrictions and weak story let you down.
Halo has been dying since Halo 3, allegedly.
Yet here we are.
