Feedback: Toggle for wacky armors and skins

Ultimately 343 would decide.

Which a toggle wouldn’t take away from you. Not to mention, it’s a Spartan. Not a power ranger. Spartans at least as far as canon goes shouldn’t and never will have cat ears.

Which again, a toggle wouldn’t take away from you. Cause you’d have no idea and the perceived annoyance is all on your own side.

They’re silly. Don’t fit tonally.

Would you be angry if we got the exact toggle that I want? Where I never have to see a kill effect or any VFX, calling card, fracture or cat ear or bunny ear again?

Would any of you senselessly arguing against this actually care beyond a week?

Which, surprise surprise the MCC toggle doesn’t take away from you.

Thats why i equip them too haha.

That being said, i dont get why everyones so uppity. Im too busy fighting to be paying attention to what peoples spartans look like, i dont even notice.

Yeah. 343i’s artistic integrity. But if that’s not enough for you, Advertising! and if that’s not enough, personal expression.

and, frankly, as an outwardly LGBT+ member of various communities, I do not want my identity silenced by anyone, because it has been for so long. They need to deal with it the same way I deal with theirs. Y’think I want to see some of the names I do? Nah, but I gotta’ deal with it.

So do these chumps who cry so hard over seeing some FRIGGIN’ TRIANGLES on someone’s head. WHY are they so mad about it? What about it, actually, doesn’t fit? Do they think Spartans don’t customize their armor?

Gods, do they have any idea how often soldiers personalize their stuff in ridiculous way? They break regs constantly. Have you ever seen what people put on tanks? You ever seen what people put on guns? Their own friggin’ full-kit BDUs?

Man I can’t go to a firing range without some ex-cop plastering themselves with all sorts of frankly real icky patches on their vests. I sure as Hel can’t stop them from doing it though.

Any reason a Spartan can’t have cat ears welded onto their helmet? Why do you think that?

Why are metal ears welded onto a helmet silly? Especially if they could reasonably serve a function?

I’d be frustrated that resources were diverted away from important stuff to change somebody’s diaper, yeah.

Meta I really think you of all people should choose a different target.

I’m all for you wearing what you want to wear for what ever reason but I think you are also connecting a lot of lines here out of nowhere. I don’t think the dude is attacking any IRL community. Gosh darn it ,IDK how anyone can even tell the what community a player belongs to based on the armor they wear. Even profile pics lie about the identify of the user. I know where you are coming from but based on his replies to me and some other people, I don’t think he’s targeting you specifically. He’s like this towards everyone.

Clearly Emile’s helmet is not silly or edgy because it is cannon and he can for some reason see clearly through all those scratches because that is also cannon no matter how stupid it looks and sounds. But cat ears are stupid and not cannon. Common sense.

Overall, if we’re going with cannon than the armor we wear should also give us whatever bonuses they’re supposed to give in the cannon. Like EOD should give us resistance to explosions. If they don’t, we’re just splitting hairs about aesthetics in a franchise full of silly moments like food tatas(grunts as a whole really), confetti explosions, wort worts, peeing brutes, fully see-through scratched up visors and other similar things.

The same reason they can’t have a -Yoink!- toy wielded to their crotch. It’s silly, that doesn’t make however you feel about yourself invalid.

It’s not something appropriate for a military. That’s not debatable

Because, cat ears on headsets are silly. People wanting to be anthro, is fine. Irrelevant to the fiction of a universe. Cat Ears were made to sell, not because they add anything to the fiction because they just don’t belong.

Maybe your Spartan has a Fursona or whatever. Not something I can buy being relevant to military grade equipment. It’s SUCH a stretch of logic.

Again, with the insults and vitriol. A toggle changes nothing about your own separate representation or experience.

Nope. The fact I have no problems with furry whatever’s or any facet of expression for any group PROVES that I am just being even keeled and put the fiction above whatever else.

It’s no crime to want my favourite world respected. Grow up.

Again, that’s my point. A majority of people haven’t been all “gum drops and rainbows” about 343’s word and decisions.

Oh yeah I know.

Haha, right!?!? Emile’s thing is SOOOOO DUUUUUUUUUMB but nobody says a thing loooool.

Bud I was born on Camp Lejeune to a Marine father who eventually left the Corps, but later in life enlisted in the Army, the day after 9/11, where I later spent a loooong time at Fort Jackson.

Most things servicemen do isn’t appropriate. Civilians like us have a really weird “They’re so G.I. Strict all the time!” understanding but honestly servicemen goof off harder than anyone else, fighting the most brutal war in human history that has never ended: The war on boredom.

If you actually think cat ears are outrageous, then you’d be SHOCKED to find out how many depictions of genitals are strewn about all over military equipment or how incredibly homoerotic the military culture is.

In other words bud I don’t think you know any servicemen.

Homie can’t buy the idea that these could indeed be attachments that filter sounds outside of our hearing range into something we can understand, or, act as long range aural sensory equipment to better track a marked target.

You just lack imagination.

No, no, haha, ah. Oh my. You’re not catching on to what I mean are you?

As with everyone on your side of the debate you’ve just slowly devolved to insults.

Thank you for your father’s service, but that’s also irrelevant. Especially to a fictional league of super soldiers. Not to mention culture and equipment production are the same thing.

I’m not interested in your salty condescension so do us both a favour and let’s not talk.

At all.

That’s a Hel of a tone shift from the puppy in my DMs last week, but as you wish.

Looks like we all agree that my 3 position slider is the only way forward. Now that we have that settled can we move onto talking about how the armor unlock system works.

We need armors outside of passes and the store with difficult unchanging challenges we can obtain ex: H3 Recon and Hayabusa and H5 Helioskrill.

It let people show off and was fun to work toawrds. We don’t need challenges like get 500 back smacks because anyone can do that given time. We need challenges that are difficult to where lots of people won’t be able to complete them unless they practice. I personally never got Recon but boy was it fun to try to get.

I don’t think anyone agrees with you.

See but you do.

By the same logic that you say certain items do fit into Halo (when they clearly don’t) i am saying you agree with me. If they just fit then you just agree with me, simple as that.

The only toggle(s) required is one that disables all Fotus/Fracture/343 Industry manufactured items alongside fracture cores themselves.

The exception being fracture coatings & visors.

This is a clean and simple solution. There’s a reason certain items are Fotus or 343 Industry manufactured. Bunny ears, mythic effects, certain skins and coatings and cat ears or holographic items. It’s all FOTUS manufacturing.

So, the toggle should simply disable all of the above listed. Easy.
