FEEDBACK THREAD: Instant respawn

This really doesn’t help the lack-of-information situation at hand.
How can we give feedback when we haven’t been fed?

It shouldn’t apply to those who betray. You know keep it like before where your penalized with a longer spawn time. (that’s if it is in team slayer games)

I was hoping to reduce forum clutter by making a set of feedback threads. Feedback could also mean opinions.

Take it out its not halo

I think this is a horrible concept. It will create a really fast gameplay. Also it will enable people to go directly to where they died and kill off their opponent who is still getting full shields. This will hurt the game and make it less exciting…plus this means no more tea bagging :frowning:

343i has come out and said the instant respawn isn’t in all playlists. Frank O’Conner has said it is in FFA, but not in team objective playlists…

If the kill times are lightning fast it will work.

Its a disaster on small maps if kill times are long because you gain no advantage killing someone. THey’re instantly back in the game at full shields while you’re recovering shields.

But I’m sure they’ve considered this. LMAO. Yeah, right.

I never minded the 3 second respawn. I’m not exactly sure why 343i wanted to add the instant spawn feature. I know they wanted a faster paced game atmosphere, but I don’t think instant spawn is going to aid in that as much as add cluster and chaos.

Just my thoughts.

Good luck on slaying the clutter then.
Of course if you caught another 343i-fish with “official” vague information to support things early+pin, it could work more in your favour.

I think they may make shields recharge faster. But now players can all Sprint. So with faster recharge and Sprint, everyone will be getting to safety and return to full shields, so the game will not FEEL like a Halo game. Just like Reach did not FEEL like a Halo game.

Its going to be a mess.

Hoping they release Halo2 on XBLA at this point.

It is better than sitting around for like 10 or 15 seconds because you betrayed or suicided.

Instant respawn should not be in Halo. Who can’t wait 5 seconds too respawn? Besides this makes the gameplay TOO fast in my opinion. You may kill someone, have no shields, then they will respawn instantly and kill you because your shields wouldn’t have recovered.

Should be really interesting. Depending on the size of the maps, it could keep it more hectic. Since you’ll only see it in slayer matches, I think it will help the flow of slayer games.

Objective matches can’t use it because it would break every objective game type because dying in an objective game is supposed to be a total hit against your team, where as in slayer, dying just goes against your score, and doesn’t really effect the manipulation of an objective.

I think it will be a good addition, it will keep the speed of the game up and it will be a lot of fun.

And as long as the spawn points are reasonable around the maps, instant respawns won’t mean people who get a kill will be killed by someone respawning. It’s not like we are always playing on Lockout or Foundation (god I miss that map). With instant respawning 343i has probably already established that spawning needs to be done in a way that keeps you from jumping right back into a fight, but keeps you close enough to where you’re not traversing the map to find one after you die.

I personally think that this is just going to be a new feature. As in the ability to choose when to spawn IF there is instant spawn enabled.

Example:

If you are playing FFA and instant spawn is enabled, if there is a madman with a rocket launcher you can wait three or 5 seconds before the game automatically puts you in. OR you can press X and take a chance. For the most part it wont be used in team games.

The perfect spawn system can’t save you on a small map from getting eaten up when people are insta-spawning all game long.

This game isn’t going to FEEL like Halo. Sorry folks.

I think 343 knows the game won’t feel like Halo either since they keep repeating it will. Uh, this should never be discussed. Just make a Halo game and you don’t have to defend all the non-Halo changes.

Halo2 XBLA is our only hope.

Yeah, and I thought Armor Lock was only going to be a campaign ability.

Stuff that makes perfect sense hasn’t happened for Halo devs in a long time.

I think it’s ridiculous. My face went through a vast amount of expressions while reading the article. It went from ecstatic to kind of disappointed after reading the instant respawns. I just feel that it will ruin the game so much…especially because sprint is now a passive ability. It will allow for quite a large amount of killionaires though for the good players.

It shouldn’t be there. Completely destroys the pacing of the game.
