Feedback: Shoulder pads

Shoulder pads shouldn’t be gained separately in events, the shop or the Battle Pass, and most of the shoulder pads are placed too low and don’t cover enough of the shoulder.
They should be placed as high as the default shoulder pads, and there should be more that cover as much as the UA/Agathius shoulder pad does, width-wise.

Also, it’s weird that you can make shoulders asymmetric, but not knee pads, wrists and gloves.

the shoulder pads and the knees and gloves etc are all a joke… they don’t hardly change the aesthetics of our spartan… This game needs destiny2 type of armor and customization for multiplayer immediately .

I haven’t played Destiny 2, but I hope Infinite gets an overhaul to improve the game.

Yeah, splitting Shoulders into 2 separate unlocks and emblems into 4 separate unlocks is just a crappy way to pad out the Battle Pass, Bundles, and Events.

In an ideal world, they’d at least make the BP shoulders unlock both sides in one level and use the new empty spaces to add in some of the missing kit shoulders (Carter’s Commando, Jorge’s Grenadier, Emile’s Security) but that makes too much sense and not enough :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag:

Yeah, the coatings shouldn’t be separated into armor, vehicles and various weapons, and all of the emblems, nameplates, backdrops, stances, voices and AI should probably be bundled as well.

That’s what it seemed like to me when I saw the event that’s on right now.

In an ideal world, the Battle Pass would have multiple tiers, upgrading would only cost the difference between tiers, and the highest tier of $59.99 would include every item from the shop.
Oh, and the Battle Pass would always have a similar amount of worthwhile items.

Do you mean first phase D2 customization where aesthetics were tied to stat based armor that can also get phased out after a certain period of time, thus giving players no sense of identity due to the constant need to maintain stats and forgo cosmetics?

Do you mean second phase D2 customization where aesthetics that introduced flamboyant cosmetics that cost cash to equip in full, or could be obtained through an in game currency in pieces?

Or do you mean current phase D2 customization where aesthetics and stats can be completely disconnected from each other, grinded to obtain a limited amount of seasonal currency, or purchased after you’ve hit your seasonal limit?

Or do you simply mean 5 customization quadrants?

You should know they are talking about torso, legs, arms, waist, and helmet customization, with per piece shaders, instead of the lazy Reach slap ons we have, with jank coatings that can’t be applied per armor piece, across all armors, weapons, and vehicles. Halo 3 and 4 had body customization. Infinite went back to slapping garbage onto a default armor core and selling us dinky little objects to stick on our Spartans like magnets on a fridge for $10. We need better body customization and per armor piece coatings. If Halo Infinite is going to have coatings, they should work like Destiny Shaders. If they are going to make a Mark VI core, it better have Halo 3 and 4 body customization.

You raise a fair point. Personally, I don’t think they should be earned separately. But I like being able to do asymmetric shoulderpads sometimes. There should be options for different knees, gloces and the like.

Yeah I think they just mean you unlock left and right shoulders, but you can still equip one at a time.

Separate unlocks is just stupid.

Yeah, that’s what I meant.
Both shoulder pads should unlock at the same time, and they should be able to be asymmetric.

I guess what I said might have sounded like I wanted the shoulder pads to be like the knee pads, wrists and gloves, but what I meant was the opposite.
The knee pads, wrists and gloves should be able to be asymmetric.

Summary

Adding onto this, there’s the @-hole which decided to split Peppermint weapon skin for AR, Sidekick and Commando into three. Probably the same guy who no doubt decided to split Emblems so we have to grind Sacrifice Emblem for the Weapons this week.

I don’t know if Santa is real, but this guy is definitely the Grinch.

I wouldn’t be surprised.

Nicholas might have been real, but he died on December 6th, 343.
The spirit of the Grinch and Scrooge are definitely alive and well however.

Also, Merry Christmas!

as a fellow destiny 2 player I can say this dont base infinite’s upgrade for customization on d2 it’ll get folks more mad trust me

I do agree that the shoulders being separate rewards is kinda dumb but then again reach did kinda do that too having each shoulder be separate purchases in game as opposed to h3 and h4 where you unlocked both at once for an achievement or accomendantion

Halo 5 had 60 default colors, they gave us 10 and have been rotating some of the other 50 in the store sometimes selling us the same.basic color 3 times in three different weekly bundles

Destiny 2’s customization isn’t good.

I agree, both shoulder pads should be unlocked at the same tier. Everything else is wrong

Agreed on keeping shoulder pads as a set rather than splitting them up within reason (special variants obviously need to be considered).

What I’m confused about is how on earth they’re going to sell the Reach Jump Jet shoulders. I’ve never seen anyone use them even when they were free in Reach.
