feedback on infinite beta gameplay, issues, feel

first off good job on the a.i even these easy bots think decently especially since modern AAA titles neglect a.i. next the aiming feels weird on mnk i have messed with the settings a lot. second i would love to be able o turn off anti aliasing since it add a weird blur filter but its not very blurry just slightly. the feel of the game feels like classic halo brought modern so good job on that especially since i was a harsh critic on halo 5. there is also a weird sound bug that mutes weapons fire if you join a match in progress. also at level 4 the battle pass has stopped progressing for me.

have you tried updating drivers, reinstalling the beta, or rebooting your pc?

Grenades are way too powerful. Melee is too, mainly because of the range of it.

It’s taking an entire mag to take one spartan out. Unless I’m equipped with another weapon outside of my side arm, it’s seems close to impossible to get out of a situation where you’re being teamed up on. I think it would also be nice if the spawn time wasn’t quite as long, so we can hope right back in should we die. Overall, it’s been really fun, though!

Waypoint support has stated 900 series cards are not supported for this technical preview

Halo Community - This game needs a true ADS like modern FPS titles. The fact that the AR still shoots like a leaf blower is beyond me. Make it have consistent accuracy and balance dmg and ttk to compete with the other weapons. Each weapon should be fun to use and not rely on hoarding power weapons. The skill gap is weapon control. Not aim and skill.

Sliding is a fun mechanic but needs to work with auto sprint off, it’s not reliable enough. Modern Warfare has a great sliding mechanic and I hope it feels like that on release.

The game is visually beautiful, but needs a face lift in the ADS mechanics.

I love the new game. something different but still halo. Well more like halo than halo 5 was. Not that halo 5 was bad just didn’t feel like halo. Well i digress. Let me start with the good. The weapons are well balanced. The ai is a good implementation to the game. Now the bad ai seems to get stuck in holograms/trees/foliage or really anything that has no hit box. The gravity hammer seems a hair to slow just a hair. The games seem to fast. Mammoth map is to small for vehicles maybe make it a little bigger like by 3ft further out so it was a good path around the whole map.

For feedback purposes. First off, vehicles don’t feel like they have any weight. They flip easily and it feels like your driving on ice. Secondly in the mode Total Control, zone placement NEEDS to be adjusted. Zones should be placed with one in the center and one on each teams side of the map. NOT placed entirely on one side. Thirdly the 10 second respawn timer NEEDS to be reduced. Especially in game modes like Arena. 7 seconds would be good but 5 seconds would be preferable. And lastly, banning users after your server kicks them from the game is just wrong.

Shotgun needs to be buffed, not enough damage and often just stick with the ar.

first of all the game felt amazing. Really brought back the classic halo.
map and weapons were awesome

just 2 minor issues to report.
twice I had rendering issues where I had patches of pink and green/yellow flashing at the front of the screen.

lastly the only negative was the lack of the halo multi kill announcer “double kill” this needs to be brought back. It’s definitely better with it.

The commando had no aim assist.
BTB is overrun by vehicles. Ghost can’t be destroyed. Need to start with a BR.
BXB needs to be taken out
Warthog drives terrible.
Assault rifle shouldn’t be able to zoom or have the range it does.

Been letting my thoughts stew for a bit, and I really only had two things I took any issue with. One, I’m not particularly fond of the end screen scoreboard. It seems to be ordered completely randomly, that or I couldn’t figure out in what way anyone was ranked. I’m used to top score being top of the board, and lowest score at the bottom. With it the way It was, I just seemed all over the place, couldn’t easily figure out where anyone fell in the scoring.

Second, the challenges for the pass, specifically the ones for specific, spawn only weapons like the bulldog. Why aren’t these also attainable in bot matches? It seems to me, especially if everyone has the same challenges, that it will be nigh impossible to get these done unless you memorize the spawns for these weapons, and then throw caution to the wind and rush that point at the start of a match. I didn’t play a lot over the course of the weekend, only about three or four matches, one of each type available and i think a second bot match or arena, can’t remember exactly. But I was only able to get a bulldog into my hands in a bot match, because the ai didn’t steal it, and one time in the btb match off someone else, but the reason i got it was because it was btb, and they had a shotgun…and i had an ar and a pistol. So if you see where this is going, there’s a reason I didn’t bother picking it up, and that reason was I wanted to help my team, not feed the enemy. It seems very unreasonable to have challenges based around specific power weapons, if they aren’t also attainable in bot matches. Maybe double the requirements for a bot match or something, but don’t lock it out entirely. Maybe just make the challenges more generic, like kills with x category of weapons instead of x weapon singular.

Otherwise, I had fun! I had crap internet all weekend, which is part of why I didn’t play too much. Not exactly fun to die around corners and from damage I didn’t even have a chance to react to due to lag on my end. So I can’t attest to much else, but overall I did enjoy myself. Was curious why we couldn’t change our spartan’s voice at all, but I guess you just wanted the tags to be kept clean or something, so that’s why Spartan ID was unavailable to mess around in.

My feedback from the Beta…

Nerf the Gravity Hammer! The Gravity Hammer’s distance reaches way too far. I died way too much by that in the beta being nowhere near the enemy when he slams that thing down at me.

The Assault Rifle should not be a long-range weapon. The distance on that thing is ridiculous. I am trying to take someone out with a DMR or BR across the map and they are lighting me up with an Assult Rifle.

Have SWAT, Snipers, and please bring back Breakout as a constant playlist for rank.

Also, please have a Horde mode of some sort. Whether it is like Halo Reach Horde, or like Halo 5 Firefight! Those are awesome when you just want to grind out waves of enemies.

I am scared that there will be a hacking issue since the multiplayer will be free. Look at how COD: Modern Warfare is! It is almost unbearable to play that game because of hackers. If nothing else, let there be an option to disable cross-platform play. But do NOT be like Activison and make it mandatory to enable cross-platform play for Warzone (or whatever you guys are going to call your Big Team Battle)

Let us earn XP by just completing games how many kills we get and what medals we earn. Do not let it be just solely on challenges. This is my argument on why. Some people do not like certain types of game modes. I never play any type of Skirmish match. It is either Slayer (when I am by myself), or SWAT/Snipers (when I play with friends). I do not want to force myself to play Capture the Flag just to score one time. I may have to play 10 games of that before I can even complete the challenge. That is not fun for anyone. Or, let us pick playlist challenges. So there could be a playlist challenge for Slayer, BTB, Skirmish, and whatever types of game modes there are. I know there is the swap challenge thing you can do, but I do not want to use all of them on Skirmish challenges like having to hold the skull in Oddball for however long.

Do not punish the MVP of the losing team with their rank, just because they lost. There is nothing more frustrating than going 25/10, and losing your rank because you were stuck with terrible teammates. It happens way too often, someone rides the coattails of their friends, gets in a high-ranked game by themselves, costs you the game, and you lose your rank because of them. It is frustrating winning 4 games in a row, and not moving an inch in the rank. But you lose one game because of bad teammates and your rank goes down. If nothing gets changed, please make this change! It has happened to me way too much. I am not sure what the ranking system will consist of, and I am not saying to let people rank up when they lose. Just don’t punish the players who did their job for the team and went “Ham” on the enemy but lost because of noobs.
