Feedback on Halo Infinite Ranked System PLEASE DO SOMETHING 343

Hey everyone,

I’m a long time Halo player that’s been following the franchise since Halo 3 and I had never seen a ranked system like the one we have right now in Infnite. Right now I’m mid-Diamond 6 and looking to get to Onix.

Anyway, today I began playing on crossplay. I won my first three matches, with modest individual stats ( K/D barely above 1, but with high contribution to the objective, call it odball, stronghold captures or flag captures), second or third player in my team by points and top-5 overall. I estimated these three matches took me a 5% forward in the Diamond 6 progress bar. One of these matches was CTF, we won 3-2 and I captured the flag twice but ended up last on slays and points in my team.

Then I played another match, had a K/D below 1 (with a negative KDA) and played the objective. We lost the match but I had the most points in my team. It took me down (again, estimated) a 30% of progress.

Finally, I lost another match but this time I didn’t play the objective (it was odball) but had a positive K/D and the most points on my team. The Diamond-6 bar didn’t move in anyway.

I would like to point out two things:

  1. It seems that the system gives more importance to slaying and your K/D than actually WINNING the match.
    I’m not saying this is always the case but when you are the first player to take the flag you will probably get killed. Something similar happens with odball. So then stealing the flag a ton of times, capturing it and making your team win doesn’t matter beacuse you didn’t slay?
  2. Given what I just said. I could just play Slayer every time, independently from the objective. It seems that the worst case scenario if you end up being the top slayer and with a K/D above 1 and lose is that you won’t progress on the ranked system but you won’t get demoted either. Instead of risking and taking a lot of deaths playing the objective I should just slay and if we win, great. But if we lose, nothing will happen

I guess what I’m trying to say is PLEASE give more importance to wins than to K/Ds. At the end we are playing to win, aren’t we? It’s really frustrating knowing that you were focused playing the objective but it didin’t really matter much. I feel the importance is divided like 20% Win/lose 40% K/D 40% Slaying .
And if the system is not going to change, at least let us know what gives us points to level up.

Anyone has different thoughts on this?
