FLIGHT FEEDBACK:
After testing the flight, I can say that the game has felt very fluid in terms of gameplay. The game has felt more halo than halo 4 & 5 did. Guns feel smooth, fun and consistent. Movement feels great.
However there are some things that need some improvements/adjustments:
1.) The medals in the game are changed from their original models. I feel that this change was unnecessary and felt that the original medal models were more iconic to halo and made it feel like halo. I hope that there will be an option to bring back the original medal designs and names. Also the size and placement of the medals are not satisfying. The medals are too small and prefer them to be on the side like every other main halo title. Medals are suppose to feel rewarding to the players.
2.) The explosions in this flight felt and sounded weak. Grenades and rockets explosions look like paint was splashed. This is the best way I could describe it. In other halo games the explosions felt more dangerous and strong. Hopefully adjustments can be made so that explosions return to their former glory.
3.) The gravity hammer does not fling bodies and projectiles like it use to in other halo titles. This is a very important aspect to the gravity hammer. The gravity hammer is supposed to feel like one. Also adding some effects like blue lightning or smoke to the hammer would be amazing.
4.) The sliding ability feels a little clunky and its not as smooth as halo 5 slide. When sliding it feels like I slided over a bump or something. Im not sure if i am the only one who experienced this but hopefully it is as smooth as h5 during release.
5.) The skewer would be excellent if it can impale people to walls. It would make the gun really stand out.

Some needed improvements and additions
1.) as a person with major physical limitations. there needs to be a accessibility option to be able to hold the right trigger on semi automatic weapons. so it limits the need for rapid trigger pulls so that a physically limited individual can make a semi auto weapon viable in gameplay. Therefore shortening the gap between playing with disabilities and being physically able.
2.) I noticed that adjusting the right stick and left stick deadzone and sensitivity. Do not make enough difference or does not work.
3.) aiming seems outdated and somewhat Unresponsive.
Other than that im impressed.
Yes! Totally agree with all of the OP’s great points. And I certainly hope 343/MS will be looking at accessibility improvements too.
I’d love to pin people on walls too, OP.
The gameplay was really good I only had issues with performance and visuals on my end. But I’m sure a lot of that will be optimised anway.
outside of that:
-
There were quite a few issues with things being cut off when playing in 21:9 UW 3440x1440. Most of this stuff was in the menus and on the customizations screens.
-
It would also be great to have AMD FidelityFX SR added to Halo Infinite as well considering we are still going to have a major hardware shortage for a while.
-
Explosions didn’t quite have the powerful sound effects you’d expect from them. They used to have a nice deep rumbling bass sound.
-
some of the physics are a bit off with the Grav hammer etc. Bodies and floor items not being thrown around more.
-
(Personal one) I’d like to see the needler sound more in line with the HALO CE. Something about the new one just seems a little cheap.

Most of 343’s guns sound generic. I would love to hear more CE influenced sounds. Bungie had way more of an imagination for this type of stuff, especially the human guns.

> 1. Did not like the spawn locations for arena play. It’s 2 close to each other and you end up getting easy grenade kills. double frag grenades correctly place with a bounce you get a quad to kill easy. Might be harder against actual players.

> 2. Power weapons need multiple spawn points. And do not highlight their spawn points as it will encourage camping power weapons instead of actually playing and moving around/playing objectives.
>
> 3. Power-ups are amazing but the grappling hooks should have special spots on the map that enhance their ability like on the top left of a wall that enables you to wrap around it fairly quick probably add a boosted melee modifier on that where you end up power kicking someone if they are around that corner.

> 5. zooming with pistole, br sniper, etc is a little choppy for me on 2k and I have a fairly good gaming monitor and 3080 hybrid GPU.
You have spawn protection and we only got to the spawns because the bots were stupid easy to kill. Halo has always had linear power weapon spawns so I am curious why you want them to change a big pillar of Halo.
My experience with Halo Infinite was INCREDIBLE. The gameplay is incredibly smooth. I didn’t run into a single bug, frozen frame, or lag spike. The graphics were breathtaking as well, and I was even playing on the oldest Xbox One model. The gun play is just as it should be and has a very nostalgic feel with the needler especially.
Gun play felt amazing and the general pacing of the game feels great.
some main complaints would be the radar feels obsolete as you never really ever see someone until they’ve already shot u.
The hud feels relatively clustered into the corner which can be slightly frustrating especially when starting off. This also slightly affects switching Grenades as you have to have a sub menu to change it.
Map voting also please!!
They need to clarify whether the Xbox One versions will be capped at 30fps in the final game, or if this was just for the test and they plan to optimize and get them to 60 later.
30fps on those consoles after 5 and MCC were all 60 gives the feeling of… they should have dropped cross-gen play, or had an outside studio handle the last-gen version, heavily modify it and get it to 60, or both
I really enjoyed the speed of the game as well as the guns. Felt solid and very well paced, and I say that as a massive fan of the MP of Halo 5. Gunfights are definitely back to angles game, and the removal of thrust makes things a bit more straightforward.
The ability to change your team and enemy team outlines was really nice as well. One thing I would like to change is to be able to change the outline of the enemy without changing the color of other UI aspects. I liked having the enemy team have a yellow outline, but I did not like how they showed up as yellow on the minimap or have the reticle turn yellow when they got into red reticle range. Being able to tweak UI color to more little bits and have them separate would be awesome.
I loved the flight!
My one thing I would want to see changed is the color of the sidekick handgun’s lights from red to blue. I feel off about the red. I would like to see it in a blue or yellow light. Hope 343 sees this!
Please for the love of God, DO NOT MAKE THE WEAPON DRILLS AN ACHIEVEMENT. Some of the weapon drills such as the BR75 are very very very frustrating to get 3 stars in. Can the score system either be revamped or just not make the entire thing an achievement.
The Warthog sounds like a Mongoose!!! I hopped into the Warthog and thought I was on the Mongoose. It was like that bloke who got their first car, a little hatchback with no exhaust, buzzing around thinking they’re wicked! It’s missing its V8 grunt! Please bring back that marvelous V8 sound. Also do something about the overpowered turret… Don’t get me wrong, I love having an OP weapon but this has no recoil at all. Either add some recoil or the over heating again.
So far I think everything plays alright, altho I didn’t get to play multi-player due to it needing to download and going to work and such. I figured the smoothness in animation andquality of overall game we see in the beta will be more worked prior to its released date. Overall it seem to be in all good for me

Like the penetrator from F.E.A.R.?

I totally aggree with you on point 2. the Explosions do not sound as Good as the Guns… and the look is also a bit too “splashy”. I would prefer an explosion like in Halo 2.
I would also strengthen the Drop Wall because it is so easy to make a hole in it and so it has almost no effect at all…
Flight Feedback - Control gametype in BTB
I think this gametype is suited to smaller maps. The first team to score 1 point has often established map control and then quickly scores the remaining zones and gets an easy quick win.
My opinion is keep control in 4v4 playlists and don’t include it in BTB.
After playing a few rpunds of BTB with some Rounds of CTF i was wondering about the Colour layout:
When an enemy gets your Flag it changes to Red and sometimes its a bit confusing and hard to seperate when you have 2 POI that are red. I think it should stay Blue even when its captured by the enemy.
Also it is confusing that you get a blue notice when someone from the other team scores… i often thought nice we are about to win!
I would also add to the reload screen after you died how much shield the enemy that killed you had left. I think it is always nice to know that.
For all the other aspects that were mentioned: I totally aggree with you! It has a perfect pace and i cant wait for december to play the whole game!!!
