February’s Inside Infinite is amazing... thoughts?

I just finished reading February’s Inside Infinite and I have to say… WHAT A BEAUTY. I absolutely love the graphics, the day/night cycle makes the ring look so beautiful, and I love the way the warthog and sniper rifle look. I can’t wait to explore the ring. Also on the picture with the sniper, we see another gun and two pieces of equipment. What do you think they are? What are your thoughts? For me, what an improvement from July. This game is so promising, I love the work they’ve been doing.

> but more than any previous game, we are breaking down the walls to create a more open play space offering exploration and discovery. What is that odd tower in the distance, I see a smoke signal over that ridge, what is the source of the odd hum? Go find out. There are entire stories to be discovered. I often describe the experience offered by Zeta Halo as “Halo unleashed” because it is all the experiences and stories you love from Halo presented in a world where you have so much more freedom to explore and discover unexpected adventures.

This is one of my favorite quotes from the article. I love how open and diverse the world is to different play styles. There are so many secrets and stories to be discovered in this ring, it’s just amazing.

Omg I am in love!!! Just finished reading it and I’m so hyped to play the game!

I love the day/night cycle as well. I absolutely cannot wait to play this game. They have been doing such a good job. It was funny to hear them say there were a lot of “walls” (bumps) in January but they fixed almost all of them in February. This game is coming along!

I heard that too lol. Glad they got it all fixed and just working on polishing the game and looking for more bugs.

The day/night system is actually a callback to old versions of H:CE. I absolutely can’t wait to play this game

It reminds me of what CE wanted to try but couldn’t, a day and night cycle, open world etc., I honestly can’t wait for infinite especially with how much progress it’s made since the gameplay demo. Another thing to add is how the graphics look compared to the demo and the pictures with it, the polishing is like night and day

Cant wait to jack a banshee and use it to fly to another chuck of Zeta Halo. So pumped! Also already looking forward to hearing from the audio team next month.

The audio team’s video clips are always so fun to listen to and try to see what they’re going for fr.

The extra year dev time looks like its really paying off. My god those screenshots are great huh. The day / nite cycle is amazing, to see the stars in the sky on a clear night is something else. They are right the time of day really does give a different vibe. the art style is very much halo 3. If you just look at the screen shots quick they look very h3. Infinite for sure like like a new gen halo 3 in the art style department and that’s great.

One of the best things in halo is being able to explore. Getting to where you cant go and fighting the restrictions of invis walls ext. If 343i are right about going where you want with the grapple i think this halo will be the best yet for exploring. Best thing about halo is after you finished the game a bunch of times and you just wanna mess about. Now the games made for that style of play in mind its going to be even more fun. The biggest limit is probably going to be how high you can fly up in the air

Anyway, these are the updates we love. Id love to get some short gifs of animations of reloading, water , day night cycle sped up ext. Stuff like that goes a long way.

I hope the map is actually HUGE and not really small like ODST. I don’t want them to talk all about free roam when there isn’t much to do. With that said, I also don’t expect an Assassins’s creed map size as well. Just something actually big that they are advertising.

They said in the post the world is actually really big and we don’t realize how big it truly is. One example of this is we could get on a banshee and fly to another chunk of the ring, like that’s so sick. I’m down for whatever, this game feels so much like halo I love the work the team is doing. I can’t wait until the day I step on that halo ring for the first time

Looks great so far, the graphics really improved substantially and the terrain complexity looks incredible and full of exploration ideas. I absolutely love the day/night cycle. Finally! Hopefully there also some dynamic weather like rain and different biomes as well. The same cliffs and pine trees can get a little stale after long hours of gameplay.

It’s looking good to me so far. Except for the clouds that still look a little iffy to me, but I know that’s purely a hardware limitation of real-time, volumetric, dynamic clouds. I’m also still hoping they changed many of the particle effects to be a little less opaque/cartoony than they were last year, but there’s nothing to really base that on yet. I’m more interested in the audio in March. I really hope the audio in Infinite is given special attention. Hopefully they give us a handful of sound effects to listen to, as well as a few comments about them from the audio design team. I don’t expect any very technical audio comments, because that sort of thing will go over the heads of most people. So I’m very interested in what’s to come, but still keeping my expectations tempered.

I’m really enjoying these insights into the games development and honestly what they’re describing is hard not to get excited about, hopefully it’s as awesome as it sounds.

The screenshots are gorgeous, they’re running on a PC of unknown spec, we’re not seeing them in motion, and they’re also 4k images, but man, they look fantastic. The amount of visual atmosphere in that environment is phenomenal. And the day night cycle looks wonderful.

Dynamic weather would be out of this world cool.

Amazing is a understatement.

This Inside Infinite just shows how much 343 cares!
