More playlists, more gooder.

  • Arena - Slayer - SWAT (with DMRs) - Snipers - Infection (not flood) - FFA - Breakout

i like the social playlist you have

Good lord no…

Connections would be horrible spreading the population into that many playlists…

Griffball
Golf
Infection
Oddball
Juggernaut

100% Agree with the OP

It would take ages to find a game though…

Way, WAY to many playlists!

Realize that the existing two Warzone modes require 48 players (24 for Warzone & 24 for Warzone Assault) for every match. On top of that, the current amount of playlists within Arena require 54 players per match (16 BTB, 8 Arena, 8 Slayer, 8 Breakout, 8 SWAT, & 6 FFA) during the week plus whatever extra is needed for the weekend playlist. That’s a total match requirement of 102 players during the week and 102+ ~8 (110) for the weekend across 6 to 7 playlists. In comparison, previous Halo titles typically had around 11 active playlists (sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less) and if we were to add up a player requirement for 11 somewhat traditional playlists (16 BTB, 8 Slayer, 8 Skirmish, 8 Snipers, 8 SWAT, 8 Grifball, 8 Action Sack, 8 Rumble Pit, 12 Multi-Team, 13 Infection, & 4 Doubles) you’d be looking at approximately 101 for all those options, so adding a ton of new playlists which will fragment the population further plus possibly take away critical population from high demand playlists like Warzone & BTB is not recommended.

Now I’m not saying that additional playlists shouldn’t be added to Halo 5’s offering, but doing so has to be considerate of the effects of maintaining the matchmaking’s ability to offer quality matches amongst all the offerings. To highlight my point let me point out that your suggestion would equate to a population requirement of approximately 203+ which also doesn’t account for Firefight or a Weekend Social playlist. A demand of 203+ players to fill out all the potential matches across 18+ playlists; that’s not going to be healthy by any means for the game. 343i should not be risking ill effects to the matchmaking system by fragmenting and diluting the player base that much. You’re requesting approximately a 50% increase to the current demand for population and over a 300% increase to the dispersion of the population; this change would carry notable consequences to the quality of the matchmaking system and lets be honest – the game’s population is bound to decline over time, not increase.

This is why I’d much rather see THIS playlist breakdown.
