Features I'd like to eventually see in Forge

I’ll start off by saying that I’m dedicating this post to features and not the obvious glitches Forge has and that I’m leaving out stuff that I’ve already seen discussed and acknowledged by 343 (such as AI enemies in Forge maps).

Anyways, here are some potential beneficial features that have popped into my head as I’ve been using Forge…

  1. The ability to make mirrored prefabs.
Now, I’m not talking about rotating a prefab 180 degrees as that’s already possible and simple to do. I’m talking about two prefabs facing each other like mirror images.
This one occured to me when I was creating the first arena map I published. I had to basically use the first base I built as a reference (checking every object’s rotation, position and size in it) and build the other base from the ground up.

  2. The ability to check initial camera animation.
This one would be a really useful feature. As it is, I have to leave Forge and go to a custom game lobby every time I want to check the initial camera’s path and timing.

  3. The ability to check hill rotation for Koth.
I’ve run into some issues with the hill rotation in Koth. I’m unsure if this is a glitch or if I’ve done the hill order wrong at times.
So far, I’ve tried three things:
Firstly, I simply adjusted the spawn order. As it didn’t work, I tried placing the hills on the map in the order I want the hill to move (both by copying and by creating an all-new hill every time). Then I’ve also tried both of the forementioned ways at the same time.
I’ve got mixed results every time and it feels like it works randomly as none of the things I’ve tried work consistently. If someone here knows a way to consistently get the right hill order I’d very much appreciate the help.
Either way, the ability to check the hill rotation within Forge would be a good trouble-shooting tool to have.

  4. The ability to re-size any visual FX.
This one should be pretty much self-explanatory.

  5. A map setting for adding clouds.
Being able to add clouds and adjust the thickness, color and level would be very useful.
For example, I’ve been making this map that’s located on three skyscrapers (two of them have few of the top floors playable). It would be cool and far more convenient to have them sort of peek out of the clouds (which was my original vision too, but turns out adjusting fog or adding a ton of visual FX doesn’t accomplish it). As it is, I’ll have to either build every building, the playable ones and the ones in the background, completely from top to bottom or wait and see if 343 happens to announce a feature like this in the future.
