I’ve been playing Halo 5 for a few days now, and barring a few minor issues (the aiming is a little hard to control) it’s so far been a pretty entertaining experience. But there’s one killer feature that I’ve seen in other games that I think could be added to Halo 5 to take the game a whole new level: radar.
Imagine if you had a little circle in, say, the lower-left corner of the screen that could detect the movement of other players in your area of the map. If you paid occasional attention to it, you could determine the general direction from which enemies were coming and prepare some sort of defensive strategy; no more getting shoulder charged and assassinated out of nowhere!
You’d definitely want to strike a balance on the distance detected, though. You wouldn’t want somebody to be able to see the whole map, but due to the sheer speed of players in this game you wouldn’t want it to be too short. I’d estimate that a radius of about, say, 25m would probably be good.
Well, you might disagree, but I think it’s a pretty good idea. Hopefully some 343i developers read this idea and decide to spend some time to add radar as a new feature in a future update to Halo 5!
