A lot of PC games usually have a keybind somewhere in there for “walk” but halo does not. It would be nice to have a button (not required to have bound to anything but there as an option) that limits your movement speed while held (walk while on foot, or half throttle while in vehicles)
Granted, crouching TACTICALLY serves the same purpose on foot and feathering the throttle likewise for vehicles, but being able to just…walk standing up or casually drive slowly past something you want to look at is a QOL feature that would be nice to have.
It’s one of the seldom acknowledged and underrated benefits of using an analog joystick over WASD along with full 360° movement over 45° increments.
it matters less in a game like halo, but its a difference you really feel in driving games like forza. There’s almost no way to make them tolerable on a keyboard
In some genres it’s a night and day difference. Racing as you pointed out works well, so does platforming.
I personally looked into a Razer Orbweaver to try and map the analog stick to movements in Overwatch to no avail, as it would’ve worked amazingly with Pharah maneuvering around in the air.
mnk players want a keybind to slow walk, meanwhile controller players are running the highest outer deadzone to strafe at top speed as soon as we touch the stick lol
thought this was pretty funny, dont mind me
