Just catching snickerdoodle’s FAQ in Guardians reminded me that I was going to post about this a few weeks ago.
> I just posted - where did my thread go??
> If you post a thread and you suddenly can’t find it anywhere, please check your post history before re-making the thread. As a rule, we virtually never flat out delete threads so if you don’t see it in the section you posted in, odds are, your thread has been re-routed to the appropriate section such as Matchmaking or Polling.
A lot of folk seem to not look at / make use of their post history, so get lost when their topic is moved and think it’s been deleted. Popular feature on some of the forums I’ve frequented / developed for is something called ‘Shadow Topics’: essentially when a topic is moved to another forum, a shadow is left in the original forum. This is essentially just a link to the new location, the shadow can stay and will just slowly creep down the list and/or it could be pruned automatically after X amount of hours (48?).
As an additional request to tail on to this, adding a link to view all your posts in the avatar dropdown menu would be helpful (I do this myself just now with a greasemonkey script).
