I submitted multiple tickets to Halo Support asking this question, and yesterday I got a response from an agent, saying he does not have an answer for me and directing me to ask the question on the forum.
My question is, are there any plans to implement support for DirectX 12 feature level 11 GPU’s? The “Hardware Tiled Resources Tier 2” error appears when launching the game on every single FL 11 GPU, even if it would otherwise be powerful enough to run the game decently. It seems that it’s simply this missing hardware feature that’s preventing us with older GPU architectures from playing the game altogether.
The reason I’m asking this is because the game’s system requirements on the Microsoft Store specifiy the game requires FL 11, while that does not actually seem to be the case. Could this just be an oversight by the devs? Perhaps the game only required FL 11 at some point during development and they forgot to update the system requirements prior to release. Anyway, sorry for the lengthy post, but I had to cram in all the relevant info I could. All help is appreciated.

I have done the exact same thing: submitted a ticket asking if there’s ever going to be support for DirectX12 Feature 11 GPUs. Just like you… same exact response!
I tried downloading it from all the stores it’s available in and none of them work. Unfortunately, I don’t think they told you to go to the forums for the sake of helping you individually. I think what they basically mean is “if enough people give a crap, we’ll do something about it.”
So, here we are.
Don’t know, holding out hope that MAYBE some sort of admin can give advice on this, but I somehow doubt it.

I fear you are correct. I don’t think they really care about this issue, if they even consider it an issue at all for that matter. Even people with higher end systems seem to be experiencing performance issues, so the optimization overall probably isn’t all too good. Also, in Nvidia’s DX 12 do’s and don’ts guide for devs it says “Don’t rely on the availability of tiled resources (check cap bits), still need to think about different DX12 hardware classes”, which is exactly what Infinite does; it needs tiled resources which are not present in FL 11 GPU’s (not mandatory, at least, maybe some FL 11 GPU’s have them), therefore causing the game to crash.
Also, in case you didn’t know, you can play the game through xCloud if you have a good enough internet connection. I have a 65 Mbps download speed (it’s recommended to have at least 25 Mbps) and it ran pretty well, as I was able to complete the campaign on heroic. There were occassional hiccupses but nothing too bad. It’s the only way we can play the game at this point.

Aw man, that’s too bad. Thanks for recommending xCloud, though! I’ll be sure to check it out.
