So I just moved from my beloved Recon helmet to a helmet I’ve been wanting for a long time, my favourite: The Commando helmet. What are your favourite helmets an why? You can also mention which shoulder pauldrons the look good with.
The CQB helmet has always been my favorite. it looks even better in Reach with the HU/RS/CNM attachment; the one with a camera on one side and a flashlight on the other (2nd unlock). One of my biggest issues with Halo 4 right off the bat was that they removed CQB.
One other helmet I use often is the HAZOP CNM-I variant (3rd unlock), which I use for one of my Spartan OCs.

Although it was a departure from the original (and current Halo 4 variant) I like the Mark V. And even though I prefer the Mark V used in Combat Evolved and Halo 4 (they’re the same) the one they used in Reach was pretty awesome as well.
But as far as helmets that are unique to Reach, I’d have to say the Operator helmet.
Mjolnir Mark V. Has been and always will be.
I’ve always preferred the Scout with the HU/RS attachment, but recently I’ve changed to the Operator with the UA/HUL attachment.
I purposely choose the craziest combos, but all the same my helmet is the final CQB. I always try to make myself unique and unpredictable looking.
It’s a tie for me between the Scout helmet and the Mark V.
I really like the Commando helmet, but for some reason I feel like I can’t wear helmets that other Spartans wear in the Noble team. I want to look different so I alternate between various helmets. Right now I’m wearing Pilot, though I wear CQB, GUNGNIR, and occasionally Military Police. And when I used a different account I had the Security helmet unlocked and I wore that a lot.
I really like GUNGNIR. I like the looks because I think it looks interesting, and I find it fascinating that the helmet uses a camera lens in the place of a visor. Plus, one of my favorite weapons is the Spartan Laser, so having the helmet built (story-wise) for it is a bonus.
I tend to switch off between Pilot (3rd attachment) and CQB UA/HUL (3rd attachment).
EOD with command module, supplemented with Security shoulders.
I usually rotate between the Gungnir/CBRN and Pilot/UA/HUL[3] helmets,
with the Sniper and MJOLNIR Mark V shoulders, respectively.
In Reach, GUNGIR. My favorite of all time is the Hayabusa.
