just wondering and also thats not all the faction I know I missed a few (ONI fits into UNSC) but I also missed servants of abiding truth and probably a bunch of other factions.
Pre-Schism Covenant. Loved the dynamics between Prophets and amongst other races, from a story-telling/world-building perspective.
Covenant Loyalists and ONI.
Brutes and shadow governments FTW
I’ve always found the Covenant to be pretty interesting.
On a slightly unrelated note, would anyone else like to see the Servants of Abiding Truth for a Covenant faction in Halo 6?
I’m UNSC and Humanity to the very core. Screw the Aliens!
Swords of Sangheilios, there’s no doubt in me that would ever choose anything else.
For some of these factions, there’s really no point making them an option on the poll. I’m primarily speaking about the Keepers of the One Freedom, the Covenant Remnants and, to a mild extent, the Insurrection. For the Keepers, we only have a single book featuring them and there wasn’t much to expand upon their faction other than they worship the Forerunners (another faction to add to a long list of Forerunner devotees), for the Covenant Remnants, the term is vague as the Keepers also fit into this category, and we don’t have much exploring their perspective, let alone depicting them in appositive light. This two points also apply to the Insurrection as there are multiple factions vying for independence and little has been down to portray them in a positive light (Hunt the Truth and The Impossible Life and Death of Admiral Preston Cole are the two most notable morally grey portrayals on the Insurrection).
TL;DR: No point adding the Keepers, Covenant Remnants or the Insurrection. First goes under the second category, the last two encompasses a wide range of factions and all 3 are rarely, if ever, portrayed in a non-negative light.
As for my favourite faction, it depends on my mood to be honest, but I will have to say that the Covenant is the most intriguing, from their society to their hierarchical social classes, with each race being sorted into a hierarchy with a feeble race at the top, forcing the stronger ones the follow them in the name of a lie. Even if the religion wasn’t a lie, The Covenant was ultimately a detriment to all races under its influence, including the San’Shyuum (the only exception would be the Kig-Yar). The Sangheili became overly reliant on the San’Shyuum for their technological needs, and eventually evolved several social stigmas into the Sangheili mindset, and soon their eventually betrayal, the San’Shyuum became ever the more weaker as their greed led them into more comfortable lives at the cost of their physiology, the Jiralhanae manipulated by the San’Shyuum and eventually caused every race within the Covenant to despise them, leading to the Brutes to place all their chips to the San’Shyuum, only to be abandoned soon after the fracturing of the Covenant, the Unggoy being taken from their home and forced into slave labour and are treated, etc. etc.
I do have to give a shout out to the Forerunners and the Flood, especially their depictions in the Forerunner Sage, which is arguably some of the best written piece of Halo fiction.
UNSC by far.
They pull off the futuristic military thing with a really badass, no -Yoinks!- given attitude.
I’m assuming Covenant Remnant is meant to be 'Mdama’s faction? Or just all Remnants as a whole?
Damn, I’m really stuck between Covenant Empire and Covenant Remnant, probably go with Empire because of just how dominant it was in the galaxy.

Jul Mdama
The flood interests me a lot, they’re like zombies on steroids.
I like the Covenant mainly!
Surely my vote is obvious.
For the glory of 'Mdama!
the covenant.
FOR THE GREAT JOURNEY
Without a doubt the UEG/UNSC!
Swords of Sanghelios is my favorite, but I also loved the pre-schism Covenant. But I have to chose one, so I will stand with Thel 'Vadam and Rtas 'Vadum!
Swords of Sanghelios all the way! For Sanghelios!
