Not sure I have a single favorite weapon.
I like the Sniper Rifle - either the autoaim has been cranked up or I got better overnight, but I manage to get a lot more headshots on running targets now.
The sticky pistol. This is a weapon I feel a lot of people don’t “get”, and they try using it like the Halo Reach grenade launcher. If you’re a sneaky player you can mine strategic locations and then blow people up with cold detachment from the other side of the map - what’s not to like? I can even see it being useful in team games just as a remote radar. Lovely little weapon.
I really like the fact that the Assault Rifle is now a competitive weapon. It’s usually my secondary or even primary in close-quarters maps.
The Incineration Cannon is just madness - the number of kills (and vehicle kills) you can rack up on Meltdown is just obscene. It’s like a Spartan Laser but with none of the charge-up.
The Magnum is a beast up close, and really good as a “last gasp” weapon. Aim for the upper torso or head and empty the clip, execution style - a lot of times the opponent won’t know what hit them.
And finally, I’m actually really loving mounted turrets. They used to be death traps in previous Halo games as you were essentially offering enemies a free headshot. Now they’re actually worth manning and even - gasp - using in their mounted state.
Least favorite weapons? I don’t really get on all that well with the Storm Rifle or Suppressor but that could just be play style. The Concussion Rifle and FRG both seem nerfed and frustrating to use.
