Favorite way to get armor?

What was your favorite way to get armor? I personally prefer the way it was in reach, in which you would play games, get money, and buy the armors available pertaining to your level. I also loved the customization options in halo reach like the arm options, leg options, the shoulder options, and everything else. What’s your favorite?

I agree with the reach system. I would also like to see a few armors only obtainable by some sort of challenge. For example there could be a armor for completing the campaign on legendary, or one for reaching champ.

The reach way where you have to reach a certain rank and a certain amount of credits to unlock your armor, and there were armors like CQB, and Military Police that were only unlocked through challenges. And Security had to be unlocked some other way I cant remember I think it was a pre order thing

I kind of liked the halo 3 way where you had to do certain things to unlock them but I also love the credit system that reach used for their armor unlocks even though you had to also be a certain rank. I would like to see a hybrid system in the future where you have to unlock armor by completing certain tasks but also be able to by other versions of the armor you earned with SR points. for example. if you unlocked the mark V helmet then the options for the alpha, delta, and what ever variants would show up but you had to purchase those with SR points.

I liked sorta a mix between Reach and 3. I like the credit system they had in Reach, yet I also liked how you had to do special things to unlock armor. I think if 343i do a mix between these to unlock systems, Halo 6 will be pretty good.

The way it was in Reach and through achievements. Like many others, I am not fond of the randomness of the Req pool when obtaining armor.

Yeah would be nice but theres one example I can think of where a lot of people got screwed aka Helioskrill

If something is “earned” then keep the way of earning it special.
I dont mind if the pre-requisites change a bit to make it harder or easier (if its too hard) but dont just give stuff away like that it really took the sense of achievment away from me.
I know my Helioskrill pattern looks different but in Arenas RVB colour scheme its not always apparent what Helioskrill variant your wearing.

I liked Halo Reach’s armor unlock system and I also liked Halo 3’s way of armor unlocks. If 343 could mix that it would be so great. It would make unlocking armor great again and also would make it fun.

3 and 4. Achievements, commendation completion, and levels. No need for credits.

I like all the ways of obtaining armor, except using req packs. those are for weapons and junk.

well, i liked how it was on Halo: Reach that it was clear and you could see that what you want to grind towards to. You got what you wanted but had the chance to change your mind while you were grinding. Now the thing that i could have wanted to it was the ability to sell the pieces for same amounts of credits that you had used on them so if you had bought something you didnt really use anymore. It could have made obtaining some later gear easier and it could have added more variation. Also, i liked how it was on Halo 3 too for you got something by doing certain action and it was also a nice surprise when i noticed that i had unlocked something new. Though it could have shown what you have to do for the pieces but its good either way. Or something that could allow everyone to have their own personalized spartan is that the armors could be unlocked from the start. Though this should be the case for emblems at least like it used to be before H4.

Honestly each had their own bonuses, and I wouldn’t mind a combination…but I’d have to say Reach’s. Being able to get what armor you wanted WHEN you wanted (well, bar level cap but that wasn’t too bad thanks to challanges)…

The Reach credit system was golden. You had a sense of accomplishment and superiority. Now you can get anything via randomized req pack. I got full Venator armor (I think it’s legendary) within my first 10 gold req packs before I was level 20. I was excited, but felt unworthy of it because of my low level (I still wore it if course)

I loved the Reach system for armor unlock, second would be 4.
