Favorite Stratigies

I loved Halo Wars and cannot wait for the new one to come out this year. I remember one of my favorite parts of this game was coming up with some crazy strategies or ideas to try to out play your opponent. I know a large part of this game came down to countering, scouting, and even rushing but I know there were also some early game strats and even late game strats that were just flat out awesome and just fun to try out.

I remember I loved using the Prophet of Regret and in late game, if somehow you had the time and resources to build this: 2 scarabs and some engineers with a fully upgraded Prophet of Regret and just go to town on enemy bases in 3v3.
*that’s usually when you saw the enemy self-destruct their base or quit out lol

What are some of your guy’s favorite strats you used to use or even some funny ones you’ve used, or opponents have tried to use against you?

Using odst drop to surround scarabs so they couldn’t move then mac blast them then going straight for the covie that had the 2 scarabs base with my entire team no amount engineers was able to stop that I saw your strategy a lot. had to come up with a counter. or on fort deen turtle up take the shield doors then go straight cobra wolverines except for 3 tank i would put Spartans in i hated the short game of rush tactics put 3 cobra on each of the main ramps put wolverines by the teleporter i played pretty much exclusively 3v3 to many strategy to name it all depended on which friends i was playing with.

I remember the classic Forge strat of pumping out all tanks and then when they tried to attack I’d have a swarm of Hunters locked in my base ready to go to town lol

That’s a good strat. I remember ODST’s were a pain in the rear to face if you weren’t prepared lol

Excitement

for me i cant seem to get the right strategy together to defeat the enemy but i am an excellent backup

Prophet of truth one man army ^^
You don´t need more than him

Gauss hogs. Often it results in quick wins. The key to using hogs is to use their speed to your advantage, you can run away from any fight. Send in a few scouts to find the most poorly defended base and you’re good. Even if your base gets destroyed, when you build a new one you can immediately start cranking out more hogs.

I never rushed, I hate that strategy. It’s so boring. It’s essentially boosting. Trying to n win as many games as fast as possible. Little skill in it anyway, just spawn a prophet and use secondary ability. It rarely worked against me to be honest anyway.

I liked countering, it keeps the game fresh. Keeps you on your toes and actually try to outsmart the opponent. Using a variety of units.

I used cutter so I had the mac blast, get rid of those nasty veteran tanks, nip them in the bud before they become unstoppable.

it also came down to positioning. If you were in a 3v3 and two enemies attacked you, you NEEDED help off your teammates otherwise you were going to lose. If your teammates refused to help then there’s nothing you can do.

sometimes this was luck based. For example if you were the middle base or the back base you were the safest. If not, you were more dependant on your team.

signals/markers and giving resources need to return to keep the game team orientated

I never really got out played I just always had a back up
