For me personally it’s in Halo 2 when Shipmaster R’tas Vadum is informed that they’re “outnumbered three to one” and then he responds with “Good, then it is an even fight” and follows it up with “Burn their mongrel hides”.
I don’t know why, but when I was little when I originally played Halo 3 (7/8 years old), my jaw literally dropped at how bad–Yoink- that sounded, even though I don’t think I knew what “mongrel” or “hides” were.
Yet even now, when I watch that cutscene, it’s just so badass.
“Burn their mongrel hides” is not from Halo 2. It is from Halo 3.
You should expect to get a lot of Sergeant Johnson quotes in this thread.
