Well, I have to admit, the Halo games have each had some amazing scores.
Halo 1, 2 and 3 had a very electronic feel to them mixed with a strong orchestra and who can forget that haunting choir for the main theme?
Halo 3 ODST had a strong group of percussion and a loud and sometimes scary piano feel.
Halo Reach also had a strong percussive feel but had a lot of emotional pieces and instruments.
Halo 4 was a new step introducing some loud and boastful orchestra like the games had never heard before allowing those epic moments to be even more EPIC!!!
But now I want YOU to answer what your favorite piece of Music is from the franchise. If it’s the main theme or another memorable piece.
my three favorite musicparts (not in a ranking):
- “beyond a pale horse”
- “follow” incubus (with vocals)
- “didacts theme” (full)
- “halo wars – status quo show”
- “odst theme”
- (all types of halo driving music – a lot of h3 tracks are meant with this line
most emotional places with music support (not in a ranking):
h4 – leaving the cave and look on requiem
h4 – beginn of the mammoth ride
reach – first view on the saber (long night of solance) – great vocals here
h4 – didacts ship enter hyperspace
h3 – low altitude attack on the dreadnought after destroying the aaa
hw – cutscene after lvl 14 where the spartans defend the ftl in the towerbase
a lot of h4 and reach here – because they have had more interactive musicparts. this doesnt mean dont like the music in the other games too
oh and: most impressing “firework”:
mission reclaimer (h4) locking the gravity well and blowing it up via infinity mini-capmis
– aesthetic moment of destruction – creates often an evil grim on my face ==D (sure – without making myself evil)
Perilious Journey/First Step
Halo Theme Mjolnir Mix
Warthog Run (Full Version)
Halo 3: ODST
I like all of them.
Tip of the Spear
I actually didn’t like it as much, since i was so accustom to hearing Marty O’Donnell.
Rain. This song made me learn to play piano, I could not resist.
