Well the topic is pretty self explanatory, what’s your favorite mongoose design from the Halo Universe? In my case my favorite mongoose designs is the Halo 3/ODST design, the reason for this is because it sporty, lightweight, and fast, unlike the Halo Reach,4, and 5 designs which are bulkier, look more heavy and looks like it protects more and a bit ATV-ish. Another design that I really like of the mongoose but was cut out from the game was the Halo 2 mongoose, though it looks kinda different or weird in some angles, i still really like its design and would have really liked to see it in Halo 2 if it wasn’t cut out from the game because of the unexpected rush that Bungie had to finish developing Halo 2.
I like the M274 Mongoose from Halo 3. That is still my favorite in the Halo video games.
I’m going with 3’s design as well, much more unique than the ATV inspired designs that came later. If I was feeling like an aloof -Yoink!-, I would have said Halo 2’s cut gungoose. But I’m not

I don’t have much of a problem with the rear parts of the mongoose in the newer games, it’s more the design in the front parts where I would mostly prefer the Halo 3 or Cut Halo 2 Design
My favorite mongoose has to be the H3 one. I just prefer the beep sound XD
Only mongoose design that I’ve ever been fond of is the scrapped h2 and h3(odst) design. Once they made it bulky it wasn’t the same imo. There’s a zippiness to the original look that’s just more to my taste
My favorite mongoose is from H5 - Why?.. Cause they gave it a gun so you can actually use it solo!

Oddly enough, I’ve got to say I think the mongoose from halo 5 is the best looking. It has a perfect mix of speed and agility and being armored and militaristic. the mongoose from 3 is nice, but it looks too light weight and fragile. the reach-4 mongoose is certainly militaristic, but it looks too heavily armored to be an effective quick and nimble reconnaissance vehicle.

That is funny because I have the opposite view. I don’t mind the front parts of the vehicle so much, but I really really dislike the passenger seat. You would expect the seat to face forward so the passenger can more easily fire on enemies ahead, right? Well it isn’t exactly possible to do that with the Halo 5 Mongoose, because the passenger has to really twist their head and body to look at targets and it just isn’t feasible. Firing at targets behind also doesn’t work because the vehicle is so fast that keeping one’s aim steady on rapidly shrinking targets is too difficult. So the only way it might work is if the Mongoose were designed to drive backwards…but that is just silly!

Would have been better now that I’m thinking, for the regular H5 mongoose to have the passenger seat looking forward as you said and the H5 gun goose to have it looking to the rear as the pilot can defend with the guns and needs rear protection.

In terms of design, I prefer the Mongoose of Halo Reach, but i like the Mongoose of Halo 3 too, also because of how it drives I also adore when I go flying through the air with it circling
Love the H5 design as that’s the one I’ve used the most and most accustomed to.
