Favorite Moment in a Halo game?

A simple question. I know there isn’t just one great moment in the Halo series, so what is your favorite? I honestly really like the part in Halo 3 when Master Chief and Arbiter get to Truth in the mission “The Covenant.”

Truth: “I… am… Truth! The voice of the Covenant!”
Arbiter: (Grabs hold of Truth’s neck) “And so, you must be silenced.” (Stabs with energy sword)

When I finally unlocked the overkill achievement in halo 3. It was a special ranked living dead playlist that bungie did for Halloween. The map was the pit so I grabbed the turret, headed to the middle of the map and waited for the zombies to file in. Might of got higher then a overkill but I threw my hands up in the air and celebrated leaving me to be easy pickings.

Every time I learn the Flood is not in a Halo a game is my favorite moment and it makes my life so much better.

In all seriousness, Silent Cartographer and Long Night of Solace are my favorite moments in Halo.

Silent Cartographer is the first level I played. It was available with the Halo demo on PC and it was perfect in every way possible.

The same thing happened with Long Night of Solace, which is Reach’s demo. We start with an epic battle on the the ground, and before you notice, you end up in space, fighting the Covenant’s spaceships. This was magic and beyond everything I expected.

I also have a soft spot for literally every mission of Halo 4 but let’s not talk about my guilty pleasures.

Mine is the portion where Chief talks about Cortana telling him to “Figure out which one of us is the machine.” Really speaks to me that Chief is not a big, green robot. He’s human after all. And, man that was hard to watch.

This is one of my favorite themes in Halo : in many ways, Cortana is way more human than John.

I just love Halo 4 ending when John has to let Cortana go and he doesn’t know how to react, he doesn’t even know how to continue without Cortana. He looks like a broken puppet without his strings while his world literally and metaphorically falls apart. This might be one of the most powerful scenes in the Halo series and 343i made a fantastic job.

I’m going to go with the first time I ever played Halo 2 online mp. I know it’s not a campaign moment, obviously, but it is technically a moment in the Halo series … Halo became my favorite game, with CE. It had me at Hello, when H2 dropped, and that mp moment made me forever dedicated to the series.

Oohh this is a good question. I’ve thought for awhile but because of how long the Halo games have spanned, so hard to choose. I think I’ll go with the unconvential route and list this one: In Reach, when you and Jorge was bringing down the shield of the Spire. Afterwards, the UNSC Grafton came in and started bombing it. Out of nowhere the Long Night of Solace decloaks and one shots the Grafton. I was so shocked that that this was one of the more vivid scenes in any Halo games. Just the sheer size of the supercarrier was a sight to behold, for me at least.

My favourite moment in Halo is when I Kill 343 Gulty Spark with Spartan Laser

Probably forming my first clan, and interacting with so many amazing people from all across the world. Some of which are still with me, people who I “met” over 10 years ago. Some say that life is all about the friends and memories we make along the way, and I’m starting to agree with them.

My favourite moment in Halo is when The Arbiter and Chief are back to back in Halo 3 on the mission “The Covenant” when the Gravemind turns against them. I get chills down my spine when The Arbiter says “We trade one villain for another.”

A close second would be in the animated version of “The Package”, when Chief, Kelly and Fred are running through the Covenant ship and Fred stops to hold off the advancing Covenant, he hits the button on the door to close it and then says “Alright. The Great Journey ends here.” As he says that he pulls out two knifed to fight the Covenant forces. I’ll link the video here.

Epilogue of Halo 3.

Cortana: Truth and the Covenant, the Flood…it’s finished.
John-117: …it’s finished.

A bittersweet feeling. The war is finally over. Humanity can start rebuilding. And the Master Chief can now rest.

That moment in Halo 3, The Covenant, when your ODST buddies drop off the hornets and all of a sudden you just see 2 scarabs drop and then you’re like “Oh -Yoink-”.

“Shipmaster they outnumber us 3 to one.”
“Then it is an even fight.”
Gives me chill down my spine every time.

End of Halo 4. Maybe isn’t the best one but watching chief finally at home gave me a good time.
After all he’ s been through he deserved it.

My favourite moment to date was watching the Flood re-emerge from the Hive Charity remains in HW2!

I really love the way he lets his armor fall. A very powerful and symbolic scene.

But the best part was wondering about this: is chief finally a machine? Is he quitting to have a “normal” life? Could Halo 5 f*** all this up?

I really hope we will have the answers in Infinite.

we definitely need (the real) Cortana back to continue Chief’s journey.

Ya know… I think she isn’ t really Cortana. In My opinion is a part of her, remember all the time she had with the gravemind? I’ m quite sure she is the gravemind ( or at least she’s riprogammed to convert forerunner army to the flood). Maybe it’s the 6 years old me who’s speaking, but i can’ t see John against Cortana…

The part I’l never forget is going into the crashed covenant ship infested with flood in halo 3. such a nerve racking moment.
