What is your favorite memory for playing Halo 2 and Halo 3?
Tough question simply because there is more than one but one of many memories for me was when I first got Xbox live and started playing halo 3 online instead of split screen at a friends house and then receiving random invites from total strangers and ending up in big games of infection on sand trap or playing one of the more complex versions of infected on foundry, moments like that led me to meet some great people, people who have since been offline for many years now and not returned so to those players “judontknowme” and “mithril land” hope you guys are still alive and doing well, hopefully we will meet again to finish the fight once more.
Lan Parties at friends houses. Launch day Chaos.
For Halo 2, getting out of the map on Turf and exploring. And then just exploring Headline when we took banshees to the out of bounds spots.
For Halo 3, having different playlists such as Icy Treats and being skilled with it. Montage of my Reach Beta, Halo 3, & ODST Vidmaster from 2010.
I have so many memories of playing co-op with my older brother on both games, and usually that meant I was player 2. I can’t exactly remember any specific moments during those times. I just remember playing couch co-op on the campaigns, trying to play through the entirety of the campaigns in one sitting. It was great. It was because of these memories that I was so disappointed with Halo 5 not having split-screen co-op. We couldn’t even play offline 1vs.1 custom games, which I also remember doing a lot in Halo 2 and 3.
I used to get mad a lot because my older brother was so much better than me, but I didn’t want to admit it. Those were good times. Thanks for making this forum to remind me of them.

Dude, I had a similar situation, except it was me who was sending invites to random strangers, and I chose to play a custom variant of Infection I made called “KingAlphaZombie” on Guardian. After that I chose a slayer variant of that mode on Sandtrap. That was a good memory.
If you’re wondering, KingAlphaZombie was just Alpha Zombies, except there was only one Alpha Zombie that was colored gold, had 4x Overshields, and spawed with a Energy Sword and Shotgun.
My favorite moment from halo 2 is playing it for the first time and getting a double kill (i was not that good)
Halo 3 customs with my mates and seeing the flood for the first time in the campaign being scared for my life
My favorite moment from Halo 3 would be finishing the level Cortana during my first play through.
Jumping the rooftops on Outskirts.
I played Halo three well before I got H2 and so going through ‘The Storm’ and seeing a scarab for the first time and the horror that was matched only by seeing two of them later in the game was certainly a highlight for me.
Hello, I have a question. If the Halo Franchise want to go in a different direction, will you be interested in a Halo Tactical First Person Shooter video game especially if it’s going in a style of Star Wars Republic Commando and Rainbow Six?
The final level of Halo 3 brought the trilogy to a satisfying conclusion, and remains as one of the most memorable moments I remember when playing Halo. That level is the definition of epic
A bit different to the other posts on this thread as I did not play halo 2 and 3 at launch because I was too young. I don’t even remember their releases. However, I’ve made some good memories playing them and thought I’d share them. So here goes. (also most of my halo 2 memories are of halo 2a)
- The Outskirts cutscene. It just bloody awesome. The moment where the Warthog suddenly jumps into frame gave the shock of my life and the dialogue is great. I also really like the Metropolis cutscene (you know which one and why). - The respawn bugs. While annoying, it is kinda funny to watch as the Arbiter repeatedly falls off a cliff in a Wraith. - The entire mission of The Covenant in Halo 3. I mean…come on. There’s only so much excitedness one man can take. The opening is so incredible, made even better with Marty O’Donnell’s beautiful music. Halo 3’s One Final Effort is probably my favourite piece of Halo music, tied with Finish The Fight and Tip Of The Spear.

I don’t know, there are already big games with a large dedicated population (Rainbow six).
Halo 2 LAN parties, such good memories.
I remember playing them as a kid with a friend. He always got the sniper and and banshee on headlong, went to the top and completely destroyed me xd
