Favorite halo game?

I’m just curious to see what everyone’s favorite halo is.

Definitely 3, but I love HW2 too, wish they would make a movie with the art of those cutscenes.

With no doubt Halo Reach. The game just really connects with me. In SP you have an amazing score, an unusual story for Halo with a Band of Brother vibe, and a more mature art style. In MP you get good maps, fairly balanced weapons, and abilities, the DMR (love it), and the so-far best armor customization. Seriously the armor in Reach is perfection.

Campaign wise;

  1. Reach.
  2. Halo 3.
  3. Halo CE.

Multiplayer;

  1. Halo 5
  2. Halo 2
  3. Halo CE.

Halo 2. Super bouncing, Rocket/Sword flying, and exploring outside the map was something I could never get enough of. I miss it.

Halo Reach or Halo 4 (multiplayer)

Campaign: Halo 2
Multiplayer: Halo Reach

Halo 2 for me, that campaign is just top tier. The world building for the covenant, the juxtaposition of Chief and arbiter’s stories, and the expertly crafted dialogue make it infinitely replayable.

Campaign : Halo 3, Halo Reach, Halo ODST

Multiplayer : Halo 4, Halo 3, and Halo 5.

3 odst reach and ce are all equal to me

Campaign:

  1. Halo 3: fantastic mission design and a wonderful way to finish the original trilogy.
  2. Halo: CE: fantastic atmosphere and a wonderful way to start the original trilogy.
  3. Halo 3: ODST: Sneaking through the Covenant-infested rainy Mombassa streets while some of the finest music to ever grace a video game plays in the background. Nuff said.

Multiplayer:

  1. Halo 5. Only real issue I have with the game is the lack of a fleshed out BTB mode and that for the better part of its lifespan, Halo 5 had no proper casual playlists. Everything was tryhard city, but I loved it regardless.
  2. Halo 2. A monumental jump for the series and console multiplayer gaming in general. Hope that Halo 2 Classic in the MCC gets some much needed love the same way CE got in this season. Halo 2: Anniversary is also fantastic and I wish it would get at least another map or two.
  3. Halo 3. Some great improvements to the sandbox, but I still feel Halo 2 is the overall superior experience.

Halo 3 Due To The Campaign
Halo 2 Due To The Music

1.Halo 3: ODST
reason: Just something about being a standard “grunt” in this world of spartans

  1. Halo 2
reason: I like the arbiter levels

  2. Halo 4
reason: Like the comp MP on MCC right now (not standard), spartan ops in single player, and campaign.

  3. Halo 3
reason: was the first halo I beat a LASO run on, to bad I can’t do that again any time soon to rusty and old.

  4. halo wars
reason: I like the vehicles and hope they will appear in a main line halo.

EDIT: 100% sure halo wars 2 would replace halo wars on this, but it isn’t on steam so can’t play it.

Combat Evolved.

Halo 3 holds the most nostalgia for me and always gets my vote. Campaign especially, fantastic experience and iconic conclusion to the original series. Halo 3 had the best overall experience.

Halo 2 would have had the best campaign had the game not been so rushed with a broken difficulty and unneeded cliffhanger ending. Still, that writing+music+level designs made H2 campaign another definitive experience for the series despite its more obvious faults.

Halo reach had the best MP in my experience, H5 could have had it for the MP aware but while it may be a tad more balanced with more options but its bloated customization system, bland progression system, and controversial inclusion of microtransactions really ruined it for me

Halo 2 Anniversary is also absolutely beautiful!

H5 has the best multiplayer now, but Halo 3’s was better for way longer and has better variety. I just think Halo 5’s Team Arena is top tier.

Campaign is a difficult one, I like them all to varying degrees with H5 being my least favourite. I think it probably has to be Halo 2 though.

It still looks good even 11 years later. Reach and CE are my favorite. I like the gritty dark militaristic themed games.

This 100%. More so than in any other Halo, stuff in Reach looks like it has actual military use.

Mine has to be Halo 5. I loved the multiplayer and the grinding. My runner up is Halo2 just because of all the good memories i had growing up playing h2
