Which Halo game was your favorite, and why? Mine was Halo 3, because it reunited Chief and Cortana, and it’s story was the thrilling conclusion of the trilogy.
halo 2 and 3 equally, because they both added new and great things to halo. They both also had great campaigns.
Halo Custom Edition was my favorite. It’s the true forge. Besides that I really enjoyed Halo 1 and 2 the most respectively for the story and Halo 2’s online.
Halo 1, 2 and 4 for story
Halo 2, 3, 4 for multiplayer
But I enjoyed every halo lol!
Toss up between Reach and ODST for campaign. H4 wins for multiplayer (though I absolutely loved Invasion in Reach).

Halo CE for the beginning of a new chapter,
Halo 4 for the suspenseful moments and dynamic activities

Halo 2 and Halo 3…
Also halo 3 odst. Yes it was overpriced but roaming around in a semi open halo game in the dead of night just feel so right.

Halo 1, 2 and ODST - and if they fix the Master Chief Collection (matchmaking)- it will be my Favorite =)
Halo 4. Its the only one I can go back to and enjoy without having to resort to “fond remembrances of another time [largely in my life].” The gameplay and story can stand on their own merits.
Zero bloom, no sprint or AA on certain maps.
Reach takes the cake
Mine is Halo 3 because in my opinion it has the best gameplay for campaign. The mission designs were much better than Halo 2 where you would have seemingly endless and random spawns of some broken enemies (I’m looking at you Jackal Snipers), and the mission designs weren’t as repetitive as Halo CE, and it added some polish to everything that was great about Halo CE and Halo 2 and added on itself.
halo reach is the best halo game ever! it has a good story-line and exceptional multi-player maps. halo 4 was such a downgrade. i’m just curious of what’s happening with halo 5 and beta…
Halo Reach is so very player friendly. It has the best multi-player maps. This collection edition game’s older maps and primitive game features are a bit too boring… Cannot wait for Halo 5 though.
Simple…Halo 3.
ODST for sure!
It had the only semi-sandbox campaign of the series and the mood was excellent. A great character-driven story. I’ve also always been a fan of the ODST group.
Lastly, it had the purest and most refined Halo multiplayer ever. Halo 3 was the pinnacle of Bungie’s original formula. Plus Firefight was great when you weren’t in the mood to face real people but didn’t wanna do a campaign mission. Just shoot waves of baddies!
My all time favorite is Halo 2. because the story is amazing, I love how everything at that time in the Halo universe looked, and it has awesome characters and gameplay.
And Halo 1 comes in as a close second.
