I would have to go with halo 3
For nostalgic multiplayer reasons Iād probably say Halo 2, but for lone enjoyment, Halo 3.
For multiplayer, it has to be Halo: Reach
For campaign, however, it is Halo 4.
Halo 2 is my favorite. Pure nostalgia.
The best Halo ever madeā¦H2A.

whenever you say this i always feel like itās pretty sad that the ābestā halo is halo 4 without sprint on halo 2 maps haha

H2A has loadouts and armor abilities⦠Oh wait no it doesnāt so no itās not like H4. But keep trying.
I think if I want the most balanced, definitive Halo experience I go for Halo 3. I would play the others for variations of that experience, 4 for a more fast-paced modern vibe, CE for a more nuanced style and 2 for its randomness.
For me it would have to be Combat Evolved with the old graphics.
Campaign: Halo 2
Multiplayer: Halo Reach
Favourite campaign overall: Halo CE
Favourite multiplayer: H2A and H3

H2A uses the halo 4 engine.

So what? Just because it uses the same engine doesnāt mean it plays the same. There is no sprint (which is a mechanic I could careless if itās there or not). The important thing is there is no loadouts or armor abilities. The weapons and power ups are all map pick ups and every one starts with the same weapons (except in fiesta of course). H4 would have been awesome if it played like H2A from launch.

The sad part isnāt that it uses the H4 engine, i meant that itās unfortunate that the old halos on MCC donāt stand up to H2A.
Halo 2 has the best story, but the gameplay suffers so I canāt put it at the top, though it did have a great multiplayer that improved on the originalās in almost every way. Combat Evolved has a pretty simple story but it does the job and has amazing level design, enemies, and perfect difficulty; it also had a surprisingly fun multiplayer that I could play for hours. Halo 3: ODST had a good story and atmosphere for what itās worth, but it had too many sections where you just hold out and defend an area, and it was too short, so I enjoyed it a lot but it wasnāt amazing. Halo: Reachās characters were a bit less developed but they were still interesting and relatable, plus the story as a whole was good and fit very nicely with Combat Evolved. The campaign had unique level design for the series and Reach experimented with various different types of gameplay. The multiplayer was different from what we had gotten so far and some of the maps had very lazy designs, and though the multiplayer was solid, I didnāt get as much enjoyment from it as the multiplayer modes from the previous games. Halo 4ās story had potential but ended up feeling disconnected from the rest of the series in terms of the characters and their relationships, and the campaign really wasnāt that fun to play through. The multiplayer was so similar to Call of Duty in many ways that it didnāt feel like a Halo game. Halo 3 is the best in my opinion because it has not only a great story but also the best multiplayer mode and gameplay in the series.
