Favorite Halo Author

Who is your favorite author in the halo fiction?

My personal favorite would probably be Eric Nylund for Ghosts of Onyx and The Fall of Reach

Eric Nylund, Fall of Reach is too good.

Karen Traviss obviously, She’s a goddess. Her work is legendary and Kilo-five is the greatest Halo stories of all time

On a serious note, it’s either Greg Bear or Eric Nylund. I loved Greg Bear’s Forerunner Trilogy and Nylund’s Fall of Reach and Ghost of Onyx. They’re among my favorite Novels

Nylund. First Strike and The Fall of Reach were good books. I also liked Matt Forbeck’s work with New Blood.

Eric Nylund for Ghosts of Onyx, it’s my favourite Halo book, I went through the Forerunner saga again recently, I didn’t like it at all the first time I read it, but I was 16 when I first read it, I appreciate it a lot more now.

Greg Bear. He wrote the best piece of fiction in Halo ever, the Forerunner Saga.

Nylund.

Have to go with Nylund. The forerunner saga is great, but I got fall of reach when it came out when I was around 13 or 14. I’ve probably read that book and the rest of the Nylund trilogy at least 5 or 6 times.

It’s hard to pick a favorite. Nylund’s action sequences, especially when set in space, are pretty impressive. I think Traviss did a much better job handling the everyday UNSC soldiers. Greg Bear’s work gave the Forerunners the right amount of “alien” to fit the setting. Staten has always handled the alien Covenant well, etc.

Nylund for helping shape the foundation of the Halo universe. During the 3 long years between Halo CE and Halo 2, First Strike was my ultimate recourse for the burning curiosity I had after the ending of the first game.
Honorary mention goes to Staten for writing the only love scene in the entire franchise.

Nylund hands down for me.

Not to thread jack but I was hoping this would get more attention than it did, I shoulda named it something more attention getting.

The mine is William C.Dietz, The flood novel, it is a great way to teach us how was the battle not only for the Master Chief, but the others who fighted against the plague.

Eric Nylund because fall of reach, but i also love Tobias S. Buckell for the cole protocol and gray team

Other than her DR.Halsey hate stories yes. I didn’t like how negative she was towards her.

Nylund. You can’t beat the originals.

I was being sarcastic though…
While Kilo-Five’s are not as bad as people thought, it’s definitely not the greatest Halo novels.
