There are multiple examples of ships flying over the playable space or landing in said space in both gameplay and cutscenes (with the smallest ship I’m going to count as a ship being the Winter class Prowler and the Lich).
My favorite ship flyby moment is actually one of the less noticable ones. It’s in the mission Reclaimer in H4 right after you exit the portal. While most players shift their attention to the Scorpion, the battle, or the Infinity, I always end up shifting my attention to the Lightcruiser getting out of the area as fast as possible. The choice of utilizing a Lightcruiser for that scene also makes the Infinity seem even more massive than it would look in comparison to a CCS class Battlecruiser or the RCS Armored Cruiser seen in some Spartan Ops cutscenes.
Probably the crash between the storm and floodgate in halo 3, because an uncertain and pivotal moment gets immediately turned into a dreaded fight for survival.
Definitely the Forward Unto Dawn landing in Halo 3. Such a beautiful moment, it didn’t even need a cutscene to show it’s glory. Just a short hard knockback and beautiful soundtrack
Halo: Odst Costal highway. Mombasa wasn’t ours the moment we dropped down but it was being made clear none of us were going to live for long if we stay there. The music pumped up my excitement and worry during the driving.
It’d have to be the first ship we witness glassing Reach during the New Alexandria mission of Halo Reach. It flies over, screaming through the skies and coming to a halt over the skyline. Then with a massive boom, it fires the blinding beam of plasma and that’s when it hits…we’re losing. Makes you feel small, like you’re fighting this uphill battle against these unstoppable alien monsters.
Hood’s frigates and Longswords attacking the dreadnought in H3, the SoF colliding with the Covenant destroyer in HW1 and the Infinity smashing that cruiser at the start of Spartan Ops
Seeing Forward Unto Dawn touch down in Halo 3 was awe-inspiring. It’s very rare to see a UNSC Frigate supply ground forces like that in the Halo universe
I think all of them are pretty impactful, although some of them haven’t aged very well. My favorite is probably when Shadow of Intent first show up in Halo 3.
Mine has to be In Amber Clad jumping out of slipspace during the mission Gravemind. You know something’s wrong when Cortana says she doesn’t detect any human life signs aboard, and then later on you hear her say that Flood have invaded High Charity, and you know things are hitting the fan.
