What is your favorite campaign mission in Halo Reach. Give a Top 3 if you can.
Here’s mine:
Long Night of Solace was number one. Tip of the spear was alright except that in the beginning with the two humongous armies colliding I was all like omg omg, and then Kat drove off to the side and I was all like NOOO Kat you stupid -Yoink-!
Long Night of Solace
Tip of the Spear
Winter Contingency
In my opinion Long Night of Solace is the ultimate Reach campaign mission. Storm the beach, space combat, and then board the carrier. Doesn’t get better than that. Took me back to Silent Cartographer, and Truth and Reconciliation.
So here’s my list:
Pillar of Autumn was the defining moment in the game. Your squad had been dying around you until that moment and just the two of you were now left. The missions starts with an overlook of the entire area ending with your objective (none other than the PoA herself) off in the distance with legions of Covenant troops standing in your way. No better way to set up the final fight in Bungie-era Halo than that.
I have Exodus and New Alexandria as a tie for third place b/c they are essentially two parts of the same mission. Both give us the urban combat that we all love from the likes of Halo 2 and ODST. Jetpacking from building to building in Exodus just felt right, and flying through the skies of New Alexandria as the city fell apart around you was a defining moment as well all ending with the sudden death of Kat. Powerful stuff.
I left off the likes of Tip of the Spear and Sword base b/c they built almost entirely around the Warthog which is only fun if you’re playing Co-op. AI’s can’t drive or shoot at all. I also left Winter Contingency off the list b/c it was a less than stellar opening to what would be Bungie’s final Halo game. Openings to CE, Halo 2, and ODST were epic, caught you off guard, and threw you right into the action. Reach and Halo 3 started off more like training missions than actual missions.
Tip of the spear
Exodus
Long Night of Solace
Long night of solace
Winter Contingency
New Alexandria
So I guess nobody likes Nightfall then? That’s alright, it wasn’t my favorite either.
It’s hard to say, a lot of the levels were on par with each other in my opinion. But right now Package on Legendary sounds right, defending the lab is great fun, especially if you can grab a banshee. And I love that additional track that only plays on Legendary, fits the mood.
I hate every campaign mission in Reach. The one I hate least is either Long Night of Solace or Exodus.

yes your butt hurt about reach we get it, its been over a year now get over it
Long Night of Solace, and Pillar of Autumn. lol, in Tip of the Spear, I was so excited to actually have a full scale clash of Human VS Covenant, then Kat drove off and jumped a bridge, nearly killing us. Then I try to get on the Warthog turrent and she drives off a cliff. Ugh, stupid Kat.
LNoS, Exodus, ONI: Sword Base.
Winter contingency and Night Fall are alright, Tip of the Spear was a let down for obvious reasons. New Alexandria, The Package and PoA all played out well, but the inconsistencies surrounding the Fall of Reach the game created spoilt the atmosphere of the levels.
