Favorite Campaign level ?

What was your favorite campaign mission in Halo 4 just say one level mine is the composer level aka when the didact gets the composer what’s yours ?

I just love the level covenant attacking place is filled with lectures ships and crusiers and the level almost felt like the first level in Halo 2 when the covenant attacks , but i guess with halo 4 style and when the jackal first jumps on the scientist i was like holy crap.

Try to keep this thread alaive let it grow !

Shutdown, you could complete it in less than 5mins.

Reclaimer, because I like the vehicle parts and on foot parts. Reminds me of Assualt on the Control Room a little bit.

Requiem, I got CE vibes, and judging CE is my favorite game, that’s a great thing

> Requiem, I got CE vibes, and judging CE is my favorite game, that’s a great thing

Requiem, despite it causing me much grief:

  1. the punishing approaches (parked Banshee in the open, extra Phantom)
  2. being unfriendly to vehicles (no marines to operate Hog turret, vehicle deloading at cutscene, exploding Banshee)
  3. the lack of solid stuff outside of the map (very few landing spots, you get deleted if you go too far out, like when you launch towards the beginning towers)
  4. overly complex obvious out of maps/skips (you cannot call this worthwhile)
  5. excessively deloading AI
  6. lack of checkpoints (what happened to the repeating checkpoints that were in Reach?)
  7. the glitched weapons crate egg which still hasn’t been addressed

Despite all these grievances, it has some of the best aesthetics, it’s beginning sections are massive (I bet there are still many unexplored areas), it has about 14 Covie comm nodes (which equates to a lot of launching), it has some well-placed load zones for some awesome manipulation, some memorable glitches (Banshee to end of level, permainvis, riding on top of a Phantom), and cutscene manipulation! There are a lot of tactics to use inside the Forerunner structure and performing a kamikaze across the bridge is just too much fun. I appreciate the lack of invisible barriers earlier in the mission.

It’s pretty much a tricker’s paradise and it’s pretty good for speedrunning as well. It’s the only Halo 4 mission I can replay without having bitter thoughts.

And of course, it has a lot of lore interlaced and reminds me of CE at times.

When it ended.

That’s how I felt about Halo 3, its Campaign was the worst of the series and is an overall disgrace

Shutdown.
While I can praise a few other levels for being great and giving me a feeling of Halo’s past but with a heavy dose of “newness”, Shutdown was the level where the story all came together and the levels on foot were the hardest of the entire game.
Sure the Pelican part was way too easy, having a Splaser for a nose cannon, but the parts where the Chief was on foot, those were the most intense I had all game and I loved the geometry and enemies for it.

And yet the replayability of H3 is far far greater. 4’s is hardly memorable.

In your opinion, at least 343 hold a half decent story, developed characters, etc, I agree Halo 4’s could of been better but it still blows Halo 3 out of the park except for tricks

There’s always one.

My favorite would be the last part in the broadsword/long sword whatever it is, that music is so epic, and the story just got so emotional.

Requiem, without a doubt. The level feels really great, just like a true Halo level with its mix of both on-foot and vehicle sections, beautiful environments and the feeling of awe and mystery.

All in all though, it’s a rather difficult choice since I enjoyed many of the campaign levels. While it definitely isn’t a perfect campaign, I must say that 343i pulled it off quite well.

you must have enjoyed some of it ? if you had to choose what would you choose?

Me to! I also loved Assualt on the Control Room. That was by far the best campaign mission of all time. I’m not saying the last mission in CE wasn’t good, It was good in it’s own way.

I loved midnight. You got to fly a really cool saber-like vehicle while listening to 117 (my favorite song from the soundtrack), and fight in the Didact’s ship, which is a really interesting environment. Replayability is strengthened by that room with a mix of human, covenant, and promethean weapons, which allows a different approach every time. And, to top it all off, you get to slap the Didact right in the stomach with a pulse grenade and detonate a nuke with your hands as the Earth looms overhead.

Composer - reminded me of Pillar of Autumn (CE) b/c Covies were raiding and almost everyone was running for there life and you along with some Marines defended. I like levels like that.

It’s a tie between glorious Composer(where one could hear the music, and had a slight feel of Pillar of Autumn from CE) and Forerunner(MMMM, new enemies and weapons were making me feel drunk with happiness.)
Forced to pick, I would take Forerunner.(I like missions with little to no vehicles, just occurred to me).

Composer- felt like Cairo Station to me.
But Requiem was totally “Halo CE Mission 2” to me.

I think Halo 4 was a great campaign. I’d have to say Midnight just about takes it as my favourite. Great story with that epic soundtrack.
