Flood it’s what got me into halo ce as a kid when i first played and got to see them I was scared and thrilled it was like seeing real live Zambies as a kid the og Xbox was the graphics of the generation looking back those graphics are now sucky but at the time they were my childhood as for my thoughts on flood they are the most coolest species 2nd only to the brutes flood are unique in there own right they were the first of there kind and that’s what makes there design amazing
thats a tough one… love the Sangheili, couldn’t have a halo game without em. Remember when they introduced the Jiralhanae and loved it, even though they were a pain, loved how they didn’t need shields they just tanked everything. Mgalekgolo are another iconic one that you couldn’t go without, always some of the most epic fights. And I agree with what you said about the flood, Loved it when that first game dropped and you got to that point, got so intense when that coin dropped, was borderline scary and had adrenaline surges. That was a long time ago though like you said, now to look back on it it’s kinda silly but was really amazing then. Really wish they’d come back.
Mine is between the brutes and flood, the reason I like the brutes so much is that they are the most savage and war like with innovative weapon designs that are rugged and seem barbaric to the sleek elite design, as for the flood it sets the level into a kinda survival feeling against overwhelming numbers and the lore of them is pretty cool to especially with them basically being a end game crisis.

Indeed I wish they would come back as well miss the flood, I never really got into the lore but I did play the games and understood the story so i got the jist of what was going on in the halo series anyways back on topic the flood were the one unique species that could end all life the only species at that besides the halo rings

You know it’s interesting too, I read somewhere that the flood is supposed to be a mutation of the dead cells from the Precursors (the species from before the forerunners that they killed to take the mantle) so it’s not like it’s “just zombies” for the people that want a complex species. There is obviously a lot of history and lore that could be explored with the flood and precursors that would make them more interesting for those people. I’m not one though, Macro mutating virus that’s essentially space zombies, Interesting enough for me and definitely sci fi. Would definitely enjoy seeing them resurface.
Both elites and brutes because of their differences.
Elites are agile, sleek, well trained, technologically advanced, level headed, and master tacticians, but the less mature elites’ senses of honour can be exploited. They are hard to hit, great shots, know when to cover and when to put the pressure on, and if you let them get away have to get their shields right back down again.
Brutes are in many cases the opposites. They don’t have the regenerating shields and are far less agile in battle, but are (meant to be) faster, tankier, more aggressive in general, incredibly intimidating in close quarters, team working, pragmatic shock troopers. Prone to berserker rage when peers and leaders die, but also cunning and pragmatic to not fall for the same traps as the sangheli.
I think their differences in combat against Spartans need to be fleshed out more because they are both interesting to fight in comparison due to their differences.
The way the elite ultra group on reach at the first encounter fight compared to the brute pack in h3 crows nest hunt you down was awesome.
Love how units interact with one another two.

That’s cool to know that there a species from before the forerunners the forerunners were supposedly the ones that created all life or that’s what was said in halo4 if I remember correctly and so they wanted a restart by using he halo rings and they’d already have the dna of every living thing even Chief which I thought was cool in a sense so if the flood predate the forerunners how old exactly are they now I’m curious research time
For those curious about how old the flood here’s a link to a site stating that they were found 10,000 years before an “ancient human civilization”.

That was a good read
All of the covenant is really great. Their designs, history, and specializations all really help halo stand out. But I’m very partial to the Jackels while grunts come in second.
I would also like to state that my fav halo Game is halo 5 because of the variety in weapons and the ability to sprint like in reach but without it being an ability my second fav is ce or halo 1 because flood there the unique species to halo and yes I agree they are more of a parasite but except zombies are also a form of parasite so you know like in resident evil this now that’s outta the way what is your favorite halo game.?
I’m going to have to go with the Lekgolo. I like the idea how they will combine and band together for protection during a fight. All for one and one for all kind of thing. I wonder how big, hypotheically, can they actually grow if they keep combining themselves? Well with their amour and stuff, a walking nightmare for most enemies.
The Sangheili! I love everything about them! Any time they play a major role l, or have a major character in a book I’m excited. I love getting more insight into their culture; and the levels on Sangheilos in Halo 5 were great, and was the high point of the game.
They look and sound cool; a unique culture that’s incredibly honor based really screams space samurai to me. I hope Staten will come back to write a full novel for Rtas’ or maybe we can get a whole spin off game with arby and Rtas’
The above comment Made by tfut I believe just made me fascinated to read and discover what Lekgolo was and is so I took a dive into wiki and found this basically it’s a worm that can mutate it’s host ie the hunters are the example here and one of the mutations please read the article for the full jist
I was always interested in the Precursors. Wish I could see one in an Halo game tho I don’t know how it will turn out.
I like many species. I love the Lekgolo, particularly Mgalekgolo. Unstoppable armoured behemoths tempered only by their loyalty to each other and their Sangheili commanders. You know those shields they carry typically weigh at least 2 tonnes?
The Kig-yar are also pretty cool. While fairly weak compared to other species, they are extremely agile (especially the T’vaons), and have an unmatched predatory instinct that makes them great marksmen for hunting down the enemy, and riot troops to hold the line whilst their allies destroy the humans. I also found it kinda funny that most of the Jackals were literally just mercenaries fighting alongside the Covenant for coin.
And lastly, I love the Jiralhanae. I love how savage they are, and how they have designed their technology. I also like how they are honestly much better soldiers than the Elites being much faster, stronger, and having better senses. People like to think they are stupid, but they are considerably more intelligent and pragmatic than they are given credit for.
I would either have to choose Elites or Grunts.
The Elites were one of my fave enemies to fight in the games, and seeing how they were in 2 really got me to like them more. Plus they seem to be the more level headed in the Covenant, considering they allowed the Grunts to fight with them even after the Grunt Rebellion.
And the Grunts are just a fan fave of mine since day one of seeing them, having the most personality since CE, and hearing how they almost took down the Covenant themselves justs give me some respect for them. Plus Stolt is a badass and is one of my fave characters.
The Sangheli are what drew me in, large saurian bipods hellbent on your demise? Hell yeah, i like the diverse classes and lives they have and lead

Sorry but Craig doesn’t count has to be an actual species not just a meme which I thought I would never have to say that word ever if I’m being honest unless you want me to somehow get you removed from replying to this thread then I suggest you please choose an actual species to the halo franchise and if you say Craig again I will lock this thread if I’m able to
and then create a different one I understand that greenskull created the Craig meme or at least I believe he did that does not mean you can just invade ones chat and just post random stuff please stay on topic thank you
