So I’ve just watched the new trailer for Halo Infinite, listening to the dialog, studying the scenes, trying to get any clues on the story. Something just occurred to me, if the Banished control this Halo ring, what is the fate of the UNSC Spirit of Fire? Is she till active? Has she been destroyed?
Now it is entirely possible that the Spirit is part of the campaign and it just hasn’t been shown, they won’t reveal everything at once obviously. But if it’s not, I have two scenarios for the fate of the ship.
My best case scenario: The Spirit and her crew now control the Ark, but Atriox has taken the remaining Banished off via the Halo and the Spirit has been left behind, trapped on the Ark, for now.
My worst case scenario: The Spirit and her crew have been destroyed and the Banished now control both the Halo and the Ark.
What do you think has happened to the Spirit of Fire and her crew?
From what I understand, and correct me if I’m wrong, infinite takes place on the Halo ring that slip spaced away from the ark. Spirit of fire is still near the Ark somewhere

I won’t correct you because I’ve just seen the 8 minute campaign demo. I thought that maybe the Banished had used the ark to build a ring to escape the Ark, I don’t think that now. Whether Atriox is alive and is fighting on the Ark or not, these Banished forces have somehow escaped the Ark (or were never on it on the first place) and appear to have destroyed what was left of the UNSC.
I believe Atriox is still at the Ark and so is the Spirit of Fire. His forces on the Ark weren’t the entirety of the Banished. So these Banished were never there.
This ring is either Installation 07 or the new one the Ark pooped out in Halo Wars 2 … the replacement for the one blown up at the end of Halo 3 which was a replacement for the one blown up in CE.
Personally, I’m hoping it’s 07. That’ll leave Installation 09 and Ander’s story open for Halo Wars 3.
