"fast" halo gameplay.

Okay it’s another sprint vs no sprint thread, so what deal with it. Anyways what if 343 made halo 6 “feel” fast without sprint? If they just change the fov, increase the base speed, and add some fancy running animations for your Spartan when moving in general 343 could make the game feel fast. And for those of you who say that any fps without sprint will flop, Doom the great gran-daddy of all shooters is releasing a game that doesn’t have sprint and that game looks pretty fast paced, so if doom can do it why can’t halo?

Or just have a classic game mode without sprint?

This sounds like you’re talking strictly about 4v4. How would warzone work without sprint? If you answer “make the maps smaller” then I suspect we will have reached a stalemate.

Warzone could be a lot more focused on vehicle combat and teleporters and man cannons can make a return.

It doesn’t necessarily need to be smaller, but more detail would have to be added, such as cover in wide open spaces. I mean, if you set the base movement to the speed of the current Halo 5 sprint speed, then you still move across the map at the same rate as using sprint, but now you can shoot people while going that fast. Works for me.

For warzone 343 could re-add partner spawns to make getting around the map not feel like a chore.

It’s really unfortunate. There are so many other ways to make movement feel interesting and meaningful; not to say Sprint isn’t one of them (balancing it is another topic entirely.)

Nowadays there’s games like Assassin’s Creed that even have maneuvering animations so characters bend their legs and shuffle their feet under heavy cornering/maneuvering like you would in real life. It looks 10x better than anything in Halo 5 to be honest…

Back on-topic, though. I have noticed there’s been less and less use of man-cannons since the introduction of Sprint and incidentally that’s yet another staple of Halo that’s disappearing.

343 could even make the standing to walking acceleration longer so when you move the thumbstick forward you would move at walking speed for 1-2 seconds then go to “running” speed which would be max speed.

Or, they could do like the original Halo games, where moving the thumbstick slightly forward made you walk and when you pushed the stick to its maximum angle, you moved at the maximum speed. Every other game FPS/TPS/RPG/etc., does this.

No you have to look like your sprinting. Otherwise it’s not!

I want a Heavy playlist for Big Team Battles. Those were awesome in Reach.

-Yoink!-! But seriously, they need to do something about this.
