Fast Base Movement, No Sprint In Halo 6.

IKR another one of these post but I think both people that are for Sprint and against it can come to terms and see that this is the BEST option for the next Halo game and this is why.

Lets look first off at the pros and cons of the Sprint Button.
Pros

  • Fast Movement helps close range weapons (AR, SMG, Energy Sowrd, ECT) - People like to feel fast.Cons

  • Changes in movement speed creats random gameplay. - Guns are not out at all times - Changes map design entirely. (Worser Gameplay, No Remakes ECTThe reson why I made that list is because those are the main points of why people both like and dislike sprint.
The idea behind Faster Base movement with no Sprint is that it has all the good things about sprint and all the good things about no sprint.
Fast Base Movement With No Sprint

  • Faster Speed (better close quarter weapons like AR, SMG, Enegry Sowrd, ECT) - No change in speed, No random Gameplay - Feels faster - Gun are out at all times - How da -Yoink- can you go wrongSprint Should not be in any Arena FPS Doom doesnt have it Overwatch doesnt have it they play fine. come on 343 take some -Yoinking!- notes. This is in my opinion the most needed gameplay change other than the maps need to be more like halo 2/3. Please dont think im another one of those halo 5 haters i just think every game can be improved and this is one of the biggest flaws in this game.

No more Sprint

I’m fine with sprint. You go fast but are a easier target. It’s not random gameplay, and the gun being down is good for balance and for strategy on if you need your gun out. We don’t need remakes either, after playing all of these old maps it’s nice to see new stuff. “Out with the old and in with the new”.

It won’t “feel faster” with a base movement speed increase, and it’ll be just as “random”. It also ruins close quarter combat.

Doom has speed boosts littered everywhere on the map, and also with no sprint hardly anyone on its matchmaking.

In overwatch, almost every character has a speed boost or ability that gets them across the map quicker. Grapple hook, leap, jetpack, speed buff to entire team, teleporters. Not to mention, doom and overwatch aren’t halo.

The energy sword feels horribly week in halo reach/3 in comparison to Halo 5 because there’s no sprint without armor abilities.

Im sorry but there is so much things wrong with your post that i dont know where to begin. People like u are the reason why halo is -Yoinked!-. Ur right Halo isnt doom or overwatch its halo and halo never had sprint in the first place. And when u say “Out with the old and in with the new” it sounds like a -Yoinking!- joke. Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3 all felt far different than each other and they all had the same movement inst that shocking? Sometimes I wish 343 made there own descions and not make there fans decissions. There developers they get paid to do that. Bungie did what they wanted (keep in mind games like the original doom were fast as hell) they made a slower game.they also made a better game, that sold way more (if halo 5 sold more then halo CE its because there wasnt as much people on xbox original and the xbox community grew. 343 takes there fams advice way to much there for a worser game that dosnt sell as much. Look at the maps in the old ones they looked like they had fun making those the new maps are all the same (theres nothing u can do in empire that u cant do in fathom). Fans r for helping fix bugs and small -Yoink- not making big defineing gameplay decisions. Grow some balls 343 and make the game u wanna make not the game ur fans wanna make.

I think sprint in H5 is okay but I agree it would be better if we just had really fast base movement speed instead of sprint.

People wanted to feel faster so in H4 343 just ham-fistedly forced in the whole gun-down sprint mechanic that’s in every other game today.

Of course sprint was a huge problem in H4 so they tweaked sprint in H5 and did a pretty decent job of it but it would have just made more sense if in H4, they had just increased base movement speed in the first place.

Instead, they just caved in and did what all the other games are doing to be more like all the other games.

Sounds perfects!

True it was kind of a weird time period where most fps games were trying to be like cod like Halo 4 and battlefield Hardline and now I think companies like 343/microsoft and Dice/EA are learning that thats not the way to go. The best FPS games on consles r games like MCC, Halo 5, BF4, Overwatch, and games that are more original and stick more to there original roots. I dont think Halo has to return but it needs to have no sprint and better map designs and things like that. The new elements in a game sould be original like warzone, faster base movement, spartan abilities. Not sprint, loadouts, or kill streaks.

343 made the game they wanted to make. And that includes sprint. Also, you’re kinda the reason halo is getting screwed over, because you can’t accept change.

Oh yeah they defenatly made Halo 4 into its own game. They never stole any features from Call of Duty with all the Killstreaks, Sprint, Loadouts, Killcams, ect. They came up with every single one of those ideas on there own. The word Sprint is just a form adverizment. You dont need sprint to go fast. 343i/ Microsofts atemt to steal some of the cod fans failed so out came Halo 5. Halo 5 has sprint because some how everyone belived every game needed sprint to be relevent to be “modern” but know that games like Doom and Overwatch have proven that no one needs a sprint button to sell copies and also have Infact peoven to people like myself that sprint should not be in any arena fps. The bottom line is a faster base movement speed had every thing people like about sprint and also has every thing people like about. Halo 5’s base speed is slower then previous titles and sprint is slightly faster then previous titles base movement the only reason why it feels fast is becuase the FOV is streached by a ton and the maps r more or less smaller or bigger but more veritical (most of the time) so the game play is a little bit faster. Look it up it triped me out to buts its all just an illusion to make u feel fast. So if u have halo 5 with increased movement speed and no sprint you basicly have original halo movement. I original found out the FOV was increesed when recreating a map from H3 and i was shocked how much it was incressed. Every map remake feels -Yoinked!- up because there all down scaled. And when they r upscaled they feel like theres not enough cover but really in halo 5 maps rhere is just a -Yoink- ton of cover every where

They need to just bring back armor ability sprint.

> 2533274806285584;9:
> They need to just bring back armor ability sprint.

Nah that would be a bad idea but jet pack as an amor ability like ober sheild or somthing would be cool

Toxic op much? Sprint is here to stay.

When someone who is so patently partisan on this issue tries to make a list (purportedly objective) of the pros and cons of sprint then what you end up with is a list of the things that you imagine pro-sprinters like (all of which, from this pro-sprinter’s perspective, are wrong), and a list of things that you personally feel have a negative effect on gameplay, things with which I personally completely disagree. So I’ll just throw out a few ideas for people to chew on:

  1. Sprint is one factor, certainly not the only factor and not even the most important one, that makes maps bigger. So get rid of sprint if you want, but don’t assume that maps will shrink automatically. They won’t.
  2. Guns down is an arbitrary feature of sprint, not an inherent feature of sprint. Don’t assume that they have to go hand in hand.
  3. Fast movement may help some players with close-range weapons, but I’m not one of them, and that argument has absolutely no bearing on reality for me. The only way I can aim an AR is by standing completely still, and even then the results are fair at best.
  4. “Feeling fast” is not subjective. Getting to a place you want to go more quickly than you would have otherwise is not “a feeling.” If that faster option is a bad thing then don’t we also have to drop vehicles completely from Halo? And teleporters and man canons?

Lastly, I want to applaud you for not trotting out the most offensive anti-sprint argument of all - that it’s only ever used by cowards and lower-skilled players as a means of escaping a superior enemy. You get points for leaving that one off the table.

Its an illusion bud the FOV is much wider in the new halos sprint is a smidge faster the walking in the old halos if that. So yes it does make u feel faster.

Look it up on you tube. Surch does a wide fov make some one feel faster. So learn what ur talking about and stop talking to me like im a little kid. 343i take sprint out weapons should be out at all times in Halo. And I agree with u maps suck -Yoink- in halo 5 I’ve already made a post on that this is a different topic so -Yoink- off. Ur point number 3 sound kinda selfish there not gonna base the game all around u. Its called veriety something for every one. Also changing speeds creats random gameplay. And i dont need ur little judge point system thats not nessesary.

Sprint ads to the risk/reward of Halos gameplay so if you want get to that power weapon first you sacrifice weapon readiness and Spartan Charge I think was supposed to be a defensive ability for when you’re caught sprinting by someone ready to shoot but it’s now more offensive because of the super short radar. An increased bms would make vehicles useless because you won’t be able to run people over because they could just walk out of the way and shoot you out of it but with sprint there’s no getting away unless you’re clever. A little off topic but I would like to see loadouts return especially in warzone so you don’t have to waste a bunch of time picking out your favorite dmr variant. We could also have loadouts in customs and swat because I loved being able to have the precision weapons that fit my playstyle but leave out loadouts for ranked arena.

Just because i said a -Yoink- doesnt mean im mad i was just stating my case. It dosn’t matter sprint will not be in the next game anyway.

I could live with that. I’d prefer no sprint and higher movement speed than sprint with this shield-sprint gimmick.
