Ok ladies and gentlemen let’s get this over with. I’m hearing a lot of people complain about “farming” and from what is sounds like none of you are using the correct term.
what your witnessing is spawn killing and grinding, it’s been around for a while. Yes it’s annoying and yes it should end but it won’t.
“farming” only exist in RPGs, where loot drops from NPCs and mission rewards. Halo would not qualify for it is a FPSs(still with me?)
Okay, now I know of many you love sticking to your guns but stop using the wrong term to describe this situation. The veterans of gaming are getting annoyed with your misuse of jargon.
Terms can evolve and change in their meaning.
Farming in Halo 5 warzone means extending the game (rather than coring) just to get extra kills.
It’s happened in Halo CTF games throughout the years and is also called griefing, or generally just being an -Yoink-.
I’ve come across the term farming in Destiny as well (another FPS).
Farming may have originated as a term in RPGs but is now used more widely.
Thank you for this OP. Although, the sore losers adopted into the most recent Halo community have zero -Yoinks!- to give if it doesn’t progress their salty agenda
Regardless of the term it is called. It is still a problem. More to the point it is a symptom of a bigger problem. I have said and will continue to say that farming Is just a symptom of the real problem. That problem is totally unbalanced matchmaking. A organized team of 6 or more is no match for a team of solo randoms. Its equal to a 12 yr old fighting a 5 yr old. It in no way is a fair fight regardless of the 12 yr olds motivations(IE-Commendations, Armor, whatever). Making the statement- “You just need to go find a team to play with” is not a realistic option for a lot of people, I would say for most people its not a realistic option for a whole host of reasons I won’t get into. Nor should they be required or expected to go find a team to play with. That is the purpose of matchmaking. They need to create a gametype specifically for solo players. As it currently stands the more solo players get destroyed because of unbalanced matchmaking the more will leave the game. This will not benefit anybody. It will only hurt the game and population
it is frustrating to be on the side that is getting spawn killed. and when you spawn out in the open and die instantly. sometimes its to much
No reason to create a new thread stating the same argument, when you already stated your argument in the other thread. I also provided an answer to why it is considered farming.

> The reason why the term started in RPG’s because you farmed materials to level, create, make, buy things within the game. It is now considered farming for Halo, because people are doing this to complete accommodations to increase rank, buy more req packs and achieve the Achilles armor. Sure, Halo has always had spawn killing in games, but this is to a whole new level in my opinion.
