I honestly cannot take spartans who farm kills. It is honestly annoying. Oh and don’t get me started on Whisky! We got our -Yoinks!- kicked in war zone Assault. They kept spawn killing us. WARONE ASSAULT!!! Jeez, well I hope they stop farming since they got the archillies armor and helmet. Anyways, I miss the old days where people will triple cap then go take the core right away. Now, we have to worry, if its safe to step outside the base. There was a game recently, where the opposing team triple capped and took the ore right away. I felt relieved, and had total respect for those spartans. They just went right for it. I also hate how people in a fire team will farm when they are destroying the core, but when its vice versa, its a big no no. Welcome to online gaming!
Before I read this, I’m going to say that we have hundreds of these threads already and the exact same arguments are going to be had in this one. I’m not telling anyone to not comment, but don’t expect anything to come out of this discussion.
EDIT: Now that I read your post. Yea, its annoying but there’s not much you can do to stop anyone from wanting to do it. You can only oppose them in game and hope you or your team can pull you out of that spawn trap.
One word, Achilles
Can we lock this thread please. WAY TOO MANY OF THESE.

All you can do is report them and move on.
these threads are useless. you got reqd, live with it and move on. Coming here and simply complaining is not worth your time, or anyone unfortunate enough to read the post time. Nothing is going to change, because this isn’t as big a problem as people make it out to be. This problem escalated from teams literally sitting in core rooms and killing people, to “they have the core vulnerable but are still unable to reach the core room so they are farming us!!!” get over it and play the next game. I have 8 days in warzone and have never been farmed once, one time isn’t really going to hurt me that bad. If you are sooooo mad that they are “farming” you, go play another game mode for a little. Or simply match into another game, because i can almost guarentee that you will not get “core farmed” a 2nd time in a row. don’t report the players either, please.

If this was such a waste of time to read, why waste your time reading AND replying?

Yes report the players, if he thinks he should. You can report for unsportsmanlike conduct and farming falls into that category for an amount of people, so they’re perfectly justified in reporting.

because i was interested in knowing if he had anything valuable to say about it, which in fact: he did not.

no don’t report the players. You don’t report players because they are completing the objective how they see fit, and are simply the better team. unsportsmanlike = completing objective? no i don’t think so

Having the ability to destroy the core but choosing not to so you can pad your stats can be seen as unsportsmanlike. So, yes, report players if you feel that you should. You can’t tell people what their opinion is on the matter, that’s what “open to interpretation means.” You may not thinks its unsporting, and that’s fine! I’m not going to waste my time trying to change your mind, but if you’re allowed to think that its not unsporting than others are allowed to think that it IS unsporting.

lets say i go 1/20 in a normal slayer game. The other team completely annihilates me. Should i go reporting them because they didn’t take it easy on me? if it is unsportsmanlike in my opinion, should i report them for it? When in their case they were just using the opportunity they had to play against me (the obvious bad player) to maybe complete some certain commendations they are wanting? It isn’t their fault that I am bad so they are able to do this to me? is it?! Technically speaking, not destroying the core could be unsportsmanlike, but if they choose to go about winning in another fashion, it’s their choice to do so and isn’t breaking any rules.
Also to make it clear, I am a firm believer that most people who complain about being “core farmed” are people who like i said, were stuck at their core but were doing well enough to still resist the enemy team so they couldn’t destroy the core, but still say that they were “core farmed”. again, most, not all. So when i am hearing that people are getting reported for not being able to destroy the core, that is where i get mad.

That first sentence is different than being farmed, but that’s not my point.
I stand by what I said, if you think a player was unsporting, you should report them as such. You admitted it right there, sort of. There is no “technically” with opinions, which sportsmanship comes down to.
The reason this works is because if a majority of people find a behavior unsporting and report it, than it “is” considered unsporting in that group of people. If you die 20 times in a game of SWAT and report a player as being unsporting, its not going to matter because very few people would report such a thing as unsporting. Its the idea that the majority is right, and because this is based in opinions and not facts, that is a fitting idea.
Again, I’m not going to try to convince you what is and isn’t unsporting, but there is a system in place to report such behavior and I believe people should use it.

and what i am trying to say is that the majority of the people are reporting these “farmers” simply because they see it as unsporting when it should not be seen as unsporting. These people are mad that things are not going how they would like them to go in the situation they are already in which makes them mad which makes then makes them penalize another player for something they did not do wrong. Tell me, is going about winning a game by kills and not destroying the core AGAINST the rules, or objective of warzone?

I know what you’re trying to say and I disagree with it. They’re reporting because they see it as unsporting. EXACTLY that’s the point. You’re wrong in saying that it should not be seen as unsporting because it is an OPINION. Opinion cannot be right or wrong, by definition.
I never said that not destroying to core was against the rules, that’s not the point. It sounds like you’re connecting rule breaking with being unsportsmanlike but those two things are not connected, they are totally different.
Some people think that a football player dancing in the endzone is unsportsmanlike but its not against the rules.
I think you’re mixing those two things together and they are not intertwined.
Also, being reported for unsportsmanlike conduct doesn’t penalize you. Cheating penalizes you (potentially of course). Unsporting behavior =/= Cheating but there still is a spot to report it, so I believe it should be used.
Farming drove me away from this game. How ridiculous this was on 343, but when they are wondering why there are fewer and fewer players logging in to this game well they have no one to blame but themselves. It’s demeaning to be on the receiving end of a team that is farming, I play video games to have fun and after being in a few games of “farming” a few weeks back I just stopped playing Halo 5. Instead I raced in Forza last weekend and have been playing the Division this week.

If you miss Halo that much, you should try it again. I’ve got 100 hours in and I’ve never been farmed.

so why even bother to report someone if it doesn’t penalize them? lol. the thing is though, why are people reporting these “farmers” for unsporting? because they refuse to destroy the core but rather go for kills instead. when has completing the objective ever been unsporting? people are using their rage because things aren’t going their way to use it as a way to hurt another player who is playing how they want to.

Sigh, this is not the reason for the spawn killing, spawn killing has been occurring since halo 1, which everyone had the same armor lol. Players spawned killed in h2/h3. And it was WAYYYY worse back then lol. The armor has NOTHING to do why people spawn kill.
If you honestly believe the “farming” will stop once more clans get both armor pieces, you are terribly mistaken.
The next thing majority of people will complain about will be warzone pve… “the crawlers are op” or “some other dude stole my warden kill.” I cant wait to see those forum and watch 343 shake their heads at the community.
At least it’ll drive more of the people complaining in warzone away and the spawn killers will have a higher chance to play each other, which is by far more fun to play.

Doesn’t matter why, if they want to they can.
Once again, I’m not going to convince you or even waste my time explaining to you why I think its unsporting because it doesn’t matter. You may think that people are just raging and that’s fine, but the whole reason this started is because you said that people shouldn’t report it because YOU didn’t think it was unsporting and this is what is wrong. It doesn’t matter what YOUR opinion is or what you think of the people who complain about being farmed. I’ve never gotten farmed and I probably wouldn’t take the time to report the other team if I ever do get farmed, but I can do it without misusing the system.
On a different note, if you want to discuss our opinion on the sportsmanship of farming, that’s fine to, but I wanted to make that point clear first.
EDIT: I think reporting for sportsmanship does affect reputation though, to answer your question.
