So, I was just wondering.
Why?
I know you’ll rank up and you’ll get a lot of exp faster, but then what’s the point in the game?
I don’t want a flame war, I just want honest, genuine comments about what makes you (if you do) farm the custom challenges?
I did it to get to Inheritor so I could play Reach without having to force myself to do Daily Challenges which made me play playlists I didn’t like and to stop worrying about rank in general.

Depends on how you mean “farming” cR.
Every time I play, I always queue up a set of custom challenges that match whatever I feel like playing. If it’s FF, I make sure I have the ceiling values for kills and headshots as challenges so I can get max credits for my playtime. IS that farming credits? I don’t tend to think so. It’s merely making sure I get as many credits as are available for the time I’m going to be playing anyway. I’m of the opinion that that is how you should use the custom challenges, so that you can enjoy Reach MM and still make a bucket of cR.
I did it so that I could get the haunted helmet and have my avatar on Bnet be locked in with the haunted helmet for all time.
Other then that, there is very little benefit.
