Far-Fetched concept involving Halo 4 Multiplayer Story

I realize before anyone just flat out says this is impossible/horrible, that it might be. I do however, think that it’s totally within reason and it’s functionality would work without really affecting game play.

There are two sides: Reds, and Blues.
Reds are given a little lore, to support it’s difference from blue. Same for Blue.
Red = Horde. Blue = Alliance. Just to give you an idea. I hate WoW, for the record.

Each faction is given a set of un-lockable features via a credit system.

Red: Recon, Security, etc.
Blue: Scout, EVA, etc.

The faction XP is balanced on it’s own XP system. The more you win/play as red, the farther into that “set” of armor you can go. However, reverting to blue team standing subtracts your overall Red XP, resulting in loss of unlocked armor. Putting you back at the default armor in replacement of your old armor.

I know it’s probably not going to happen. I just thought it sounded fun and discussion worthy.

I won’t be purchasing this game if this happens.

So what your’e saying is that you would want a large scale tug-of-war, based on team colors that you can’t even choose in the first place?

I already quit playing after Reach, not because it’s bad, the differences that make it original aren’t as fun to me. (Sort of. I go back now and again, but then I remember it’s Reach and leave it alone. I’ll probably go back next time I get a 2 day.) If they do what this is suggesting then I’d only feel like they’re comparing their game to other successful games and their business models and trying to adjust it accordingly to match other game’s success. Basically they’d see that factions in WoW are a heavy hitter for business as their celestial charts tell them, so when they thnk about how much more they can rake in for Halo 4 they look at similar charts and assume “Oh that works, see here’s the evidence on the paper.”

But I’d only think that if they did EXACTLY what you’re portraying and I’m not sure they will.

In my mind Halo 4 will be more like Halo 3 because it’s a direct sequel, which should put all of the Halo 3 establishements, weapons, and equipment to a relevant point again.

But something tells me that won’t be the case, as Master Chief is already sporting an armor set that looks more like the customizable varients from Reach than the one he had in Halo 3.

WHAT I THINK they mean, is that they will have Invasion like objective playlists in which the two teams will have their different growths and objectives during a match, and that’s it.

To be honest, I almost guarantee it’s just going to be passed off as a training simulator program.

Of not than they are going for a divide in the UNSC into two factions (ONI, vs the UNSC).

And in Multiplayer these are the battles you are “fighting”

They already hinted possibilities of a Human civil war in the future, especially with Lord Hood and the Arbiter trying to make an alliance with one another, and Oni, and Jul 'Mdama using eachother to destroy the alliance, in an attempt to go to war.

Whether the Former or the Latter, I think Elites should return to MP, either as “AI” simulations for the training program (but controlled by players), or as Elites following either The Arbiter, or 'Mdama, and having sided with either Oni, or the UNSC.
