1 - The challenge system is an absolute mess
“Hey let’s make challenges that require specific game modes to complete whilst also giving the player zero control over what game modes they play.” Honestly? I just straight up started leaving games that didn’t place me in the game-type I wanted to be in. Am I ruining the experience for 3-7 other people? Perhaps. Do I feel guilty about it? Nope. I’m making do with the tools 343 have given me.
2 - No regional filtering on matchmaking
Seriously. 343 have been making games for, what? A decade at this point. This one is so amateurish I’m actually legitimately too baffled to be mad about it. How do you fail to include a feature that has been in pretty much every online game made since like 2006? Again, I just straight up leave games where I have 100+ ping, and it happens way more than it should.
3 - Bots are straight up pointless, bordering on detrimental
Who signed off on shackling a team that is already disadvantaged by a leaver with a guaranteed 2-14 traipsing round the arena? Sure in some game modes I guess it’s just a harmless walking piece of meat, but slayer? Come the fk on.
4 - The Steam asking price of the Infinite campaign is beyond insulting
90AUD. Ninety. Separating the multiplayer from the singleplayer and making it ‘free’ so you can justify attaching microtransactions to it whilst still having the gall to charge damn near a hundred bucks for the single player campaign is revolting, and if you honestly don’t think some of us see exactly what you’re playing at with that one, you’ve got another thing coming. I love the game, but my Steam review is negative on principle because of this alone.
