I’m a longtime fan of Halo, played and finished every one. I heard about the CSR being Waypoint only and I have to say that really sucks. I already have a Halotracker.com rating and I don’t care when I see it go up or down; going to a website to see it means that I don’t care about it. I need to see it in game, browse other players to see what rank they are too. It’s fun and it keeps me interested. If it isn’t in the game than it just doesn’t mean as much, even for someone like me that loves see’ing it.
If you think we need, not want, a visible CSR in game, somewhere in the menus or on the player card then please, reply to this message. Thanks community.
eh, I’m mostly indifferent about it . . . but if most people who actually care about the ordeal want it, then I’m cool with that. I’ll be honest, I was a 38 max in Halo 3. Whether you think it’s good or bad, I really don’t care. If they brought it back . . . I’d feel a lot better about the matching system that’s for sure. Right now I’m just taking 343’s word for it that they match based on skill just like bungie said they did with Reach . . . only to find out that Reach matched more-so on connection speed rather than skill. I could put up the link if pressed. Other than that, though, I really have no opinion.
I agree wholeheartedly. I am not a super competitive guy and I’m not a game troll, I just like seeing how I rank amongst my friends and the intimidation factor you get when other teams see your rank.
Hey, fair enough. I just enjoy a guage that goes up and down based on how I stack up against the competition. I know the rank in H3 and earlier was truskill based and the number you got to eventually froze because that was your skill but I want the visible rank for me against my opponents. I played Modern Warefare 3 for a month before Halo 4 came out and I liked seeing that I was ranked 14,220,220 in the world when I first started playing and watched myself slowly climb up the list. It was motivational and added another level to the game. As simple as a littls stat is it really made a difference.

I agree. Ignoring boosters in this comment, I used to think “oh crap, a team with 2 50’s!” and the game was more tense because of it. Right now when I see a level 130 in Halo 4 it means nothing but the fact that the person plays a lot.
it takes 6 months for 343 to make something some guy from Halotracker made 3 years ago… CSR will fail, and will be a complete waist of time and effort by 343.
Big font but I know where you are coming from. I spoke to a friend that has an in with 343 and they said that it is very hard for them to edit the menu system of Halo 4 at this point. It’s easy for me to just complain and say that there’s tons of places they can put the csr in-game but hey, I’m not a programmer so I won’t tell them how to do their job. I just hope that they can find a cost-effective way to make in-game CSR happen.
I don’t care if its visible in game or not as long as it appropriately pairs players based on skill because there are plenty of ways to check it (computer, phone, tablet, Xbox waypont app). Besides I can understand why 343i made that decision so I don’t falt them for it.
> As someone who was called a Gold Bar Noob more times than I can count, I am unsure about a visdible CSR.
If they put the CSR in the service record of each person then it would be invisible to all casual players and only the uber competitive people would even check it. I do know what you’re saying, we did get a lot of smack talk in H 3 over ranks. Goes with the territory when you are playing a competitive game though.
exactly on the 130 thing. I don’t like that rank is based on sheer number of games played (granted, you rank faster if you are a better player because you fill out commendations quicker etc.). And some will say “go play MLG or something” but I don’t care to play hardcore playlists, I’m not THAT competitive. But I would like for my team to play against folks of similar skill, not rank. Keep the rank (all though I did like Reach’s military style ranking) but also display TS score.
I also like the "where you stand in the world/region idea. I don’t play COD so I was not aware they did that.

Exactly. If you cant handle a little trash talk without crying, either mute the -Yoink- or just dont play in the competitive playlist (if we get a competitive playlist that is). If someone is spamming you with messages, dont bother reading them and delete them. Hell, you can even report the jack -Yoink- ffs.
I sometimes laugh at the fact that people are against a feature that, if they chose not to use it, would affect them in no way.
