I made a fan-made novel. Here’s a preview:
Read Halo: Conflict- the ongoing Halo Book series detailing the Halo Universe in a unique, intimate portrayal. Winner of several awards, including the Gamer Live Author of the Year Award, Antonio L. creates a different perspective as he tells the first-hand account of a team of Spartans as they handle hardships, loss, pain, and death as they struggle to survive the Covenant onslaught. The first novel in the series, Halo: Conflict I, has the Spartans engage the Covenant in Operation: Hornet’s Nest. They must capture a Covenant Cruiser, and use it to engage a Covenant Fortress. Here is a preview of Halo: Conflict I.
Chapter 5
I immediately dodged his first swing, and countered with a left hook to his face. He swung again, but I rolled and pulled out my pistols, and fired into his chest. His shields flickered, but stayed active. He roared and charged me, swinging his right sword. I deflect his swing, sending it to the wall, before unloading my clip point blank into his face. He became dazed, and more outraged. I drew my dual knifes, slashing at his throat. He fell to his knees, dazed and weak. But very much alive and very pissed. He pulled out his plasma blade, and stood up, roaring. I sweep his legs from underneath him, and finished with a blade to his chest. He muttered “For the Prophets…” as he activated a gamma grenade. “Not. So. Fast.” I said as I grabbed the now activated radioactive explosive. My HUD flickered as the radiation interfered with my suit’s electronics. I opened the Shipmaster’s mandibles and shoved the grenade down his throat. His flesh burned and sizzled. I had just enough time to retrieve my combat knife and dive behind a bulkhead before he exploded, leaving nothing but a small crater on the bridge. I wasted no time and jogged to my team’s positions, who were currently engaging the hunter pair. Cyrus ducked as one hunter swung its massive shield, and fired his assault rifle into the hunters back. It roared and pointed its cannon arm at him. I grab the arm, and using all my strength, I push it to point at the hunter’s partner. The fuel rod blast hit the other hunter, blasting it to the wall, leaving it smoking. The hunter that shot was a little confused, and Nick used that opportunity to pull the pin of a frag grenade and stick it in the hunter’s mid-section. I ducked and rolled as the hunter exploded from the inside out, sending orange blood and guts in all directions. I get up and survey the bridge. “Wow,” Katelyn said, “We sure do know how to throw a party.”
