Fan Fiction Writer's Support Group

I’ve seen (and been part of) these kinds of groups on forums for other games, and I noticed that, after searching through any posts and threads tagged fan fiction, this was one of the few forums I’ve seen that doesn’t have something like this. With that said I decided to create one. Anyone from some place like the Epic Games Forums should be pretty familiar with the concept, but for anyone who isn’t, here’s a general breakdown:

These “support groups” aren’t some forum-based riot or anything, nor is it meant to overshadow or attempt to put less value on others in that subthread, like say forgers and montage makers in this case. It is meant for fanfiction writers to have a single, collective area where they can converse with fellow writers or anybody interested in writing, being able to be a sort of “melting pot” for just about any kind of writer to call home.

Have an idea that you’re not quite sure will work? Pitch it around and see what other people think before you implement it. You can discuss anything from weird canon twists you’re trying to understand, to what you like/don’t like in writing, even just down to what kind of music, if any that you listen to while writing. It’s all up to you.

You can also ask people to give criticism on your work, and maybe give input on something someone else made. I’ll be adding another post under this one which will, if this thread takes off, be reserved as a list of fan fictions done by anyone who wants their work featured there. Just speak up and I’ll add it, regardless of what it is. It could be anything from a really serious, dramatic recount of Chief’s early life to a crack-fic of Six in NYC, I’ll still put the name and a brief summary, written by you.

Reserved post, as mentioned above, to feature people’s fan fictions in a comprehensive list. Just speak up if you want your work featured. For the most seamless results, give me a name, a brief summary, genre, and whether or not it’s complete. Preferably also have it posted on FanFiction.net so I can have an easy link for people to get to it.

Hey man, great idea, unfortunately, as far as I have seen, we have very few fan fiction writers on Waypoint, no idea why. It’s frustrating as I love a good read and I have always found that a lot of fan fic writers have a great understanding of the lore and can help expand the universe in amazing ways. I’ve dabbled in writing a fan fic, I currently have one piece that I published on here, but it got no attention so I let it die, maybe it’s time to bring it back.

The Abduction

The fan fic describes the night that a young boy, Thomas, was kidnapped by the UNSC and conscripted into the UNSC SPARTAN II program from the child’s perspective. I like to think that it is a unique perspective into the events surrounding the kidnapping of the kids that eventually became humanities saving grace against the Covenant and beyond.

As always, any constructive criticism and feedback is welcome.
