They don’t care about us, us fallback hoppers are a worryingly small sample of the matchmaking population so who knows when they’ll fix it.
I’m having the issue as well. I also had to forfeit a GB match because I cant even play customs with anyone

A Hopper server is a fancy name for a “backup” server, at least that’s what 343 likes to call it. Fallback hopper=fallback server or backup server.
OT: I have felt everyone’s pain…I was in a fallback server for almost a week(last Tuesday and I barely got my SR1 back to SR68 just yesterday evening). For me, I could still play online and earn XP, but loadouts, commendations, challenges etc. wouldn’t be available to me, not even Spartan Ops!
I tried contacting 343 via these forums, Twitter and I even tried expanding to the Xbox forums, MLG forums and the Halo Council forums as well. The only forum that I actually got a real response from was the Halo Council forums(obviously, everyone was nice, I recommend people with real problems go there instead).
I tried posting a forum on here before I knew what a hopper server was and what my issue was really, but on this forum all I got was the standard “Is your NAT OPEN? Have you reset your router? This isn’t happening to me, so it must be you!” etc. responses.
I am even more mad there isn’t ANY SORT OF SUPPORT EMAIL THAT WE CAN EMAIL 343 DIRECTLY WHEN WE HAVE A LEGITIMATE PROBLEM. Piss poor support!

AT&T U-verse, 20Mb down, 5Mb up. Never ONCE had a problem like this. 343 needs to get their butt in gear and start SUPPORTING THEIR GAME.
Ok good, the reason why I ask is because I work with Network Engineering for an ISP. So I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just mine
I am also currently experiencing this problem with the fall back hopper. I have had the game since launch and I have not had a single problem with the matchmaking or spartan ops until today. I think that this issue may be tied to the fact that they put out the new spartan ops episode today and that it some how screwed up my account because this morning, i was able to play 1 episode of spartan ops from week 3 without any trouble but then i started to experience weird glitches while playing the episode such as my armor resetting when i would die or not being able to access my loadouts at all between respawns. Once I finished the episode, i was kicked from the lobby and my rank was reset back to SR-1 and now i can’t play spartan ops at all and i am stuck in the back up hopper for matchmaking. Anyone have any info how to fix this or when we can expect 343 to fix it?

Were you able to fix the problem? I’ve been having this Hopper issue for over 24 hours now, and it is unbelievably maddening. All of my friends can play just fine, yet I’m stuck at SR1 with none of my loadouts, and unable to join anyone’s game. I can connect to party chat just fine, just can’t get into a game. When I first start up, it tells me that there are thousands of people playing, then once I go into the menu’s it tells me I have a couple hundred. So I’m assuming that the couple hundred I’m able to match up with are the ones that are having the same problem as me.
I’ve been very disappointed with the Halo games starting with 3, and this one was actually a reprieve for me, but if this issue isn’t addressed soon, I think I may be done with all of it.
I too have had this problem for more than 24 hours, very frustrated
every thing was working fine for me till friday, wargames are still fine no lag at all, now spartan ops is a differnt thing, no match ups at all when i do get one after a hr or so the lag is so bad , bouncing of wall cant walk shoot nothing… only on spartan ops…343 sucks
Yesterday I had the same problem, while I was playing the last chapter within Spartan Ops episode 4, and during it my spartan was changing from what he originally looked like to be a black spartan with all recruit armor. When I was finished I immediately backed out and it was the usual problem’s. Unable to play Spartan Ops, my spartan is back at Spartan Rank 1, I only was able to play a few playlist’s, I can’t complete no commendations or challenge’s, and when I checked my connection, it said I had no connection to Xbox Live. When I gone online today it was the same problems but I was back at my original rank and was able to achieve challenge’s and commendations. I seriously hope that 343 decide’s to take good care to their game and not have player’s like us suffer with having a limited experience.
