does it still exist? Even from a canonical point it doesn’t make sense how our Spartans survive these falls or can ground pound from great heights

Didn’t chief crash into a planet?
To my knowledge Halo Ce is the only game with any form of fall damage.
Well, correction. I think Halo 4 may have had it from extreme heights, and I remember it having some amount of fall stun.

Halo Reach also had fall damage.
I do not believe so, accidentally hit the wrong paddle on my controller and bailed out of my banshee on ARC from way above the garage. The banshee fell to the ground, I fell to the ground, shot up a fool, and got back in the banshee… I wish I had saved that recording.

Lol good to know, even so that height ceiling isn’t drastic, I’ll try it in forge later
No fall damage in H5. Which makes sense. If Chief can walk away from falling to Earth from the keyship then A spartan should be able to hop off a building and live too. But then again. Chief is the luckiest of the Spartan’s, is he not?

Yes.
Gel layer… Something, something?
There is fall damage I cam confirm
I got in a banshee flew as high as I could and jumped out
Not enough damage to kill though…

Fixed. Cortana Approves.

Luck only does so much.

Well for some reason they portray it as though it’s Chief’s most redeeming feature. Kind of insulting really. Wonder who thought that making Chief “the Lucky Spartan” was a good idea.
He’s not the fastest, strongest, or the smartest.
But he’s lucky.
Six falls from space and lands on Reach and is just fine too.
This conversation makes me want a Spire remake real bad.

I take it you’ve never seen Unforgiven? Luck of the hero is a pretty common action theme in my experience. I think they even touched on it with regards to Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Carribbean.
Considering that Spartans all over canon like to fall from orbit or at least extreme altitudes, it makes perfect sense.

But he’s still the best.
