in the bulletin frankie mentioned the MLG players who got to play halo 4 and he said this about the map wraparound.
“A lot of suicides happened as players attempted to jump from Wraparounds aeries down to the Grav Lift below (it’s supposed to be a one-way trip, but they almost made it…).”
this pretty much confirms that fall damage is in halo 4 since the same thing happens in reach.
Either that or they jumped off the map? I haven’t seen the map, but I know it’s hovering up in the sky kind of like Lockout.

agreed, look at wraparound… there are many spaces to fall off… and if fall damage is there, that is acceptable… after all with master chief his health recharges…

that place that they fell and died was part of the map so it is fall damage
So long as there’s an option to turn it off or alter the amount of damage or height.

This is more likely with what we’ve seen of this map. Sounds like they just missed the jump or attempted a jump they shouldn’t have.
Falling off the map
They were missing the many canons at, the bottom / one way street – get it
no Fall damage
My thoughts

Two very importent things.
#1) There’s already a thread about this.
#2) Frankie did not say “There is fall damage”, and we have no clue on how the current build of wraparound is, we don’t even know where the man cannon is located, and what the area around it looks like. It could be located like the grav lift/man cannon on Ascension, and it could be located on a very small platform that if you miss, you fall off the map, which falling damage or not spells death.
Also, if there is fall damage, and I’m not saying there is until Frankie him self comes out and says “There is fall damage”, we don’t know how far of a fall there is before the man cannon. So that fall damage could be set for a very high height, so high, that in a normal game you’ll never notice.

I love English.
The way the sentence was delivered presided over the assumption that the bodies had hit the ground, and were visible. Essentially, it said that people were dying due to trying to hit something in the middle. I would go on and assume that, given what we have seen of the map and the jumping mechanics so far, they got close enough to the point where they were on the platform area surrounding the gravity lift in the center.

Sir, I present to you; the definition of ‘aerie’.
I also present everyone else with a good wide-ranged image of Wraparound, which, based on what we’ve seen in the Multiplayer segments shown, doesn’t seem to have changed much.
The Spartan on the right of the image is most likely coming from a man cannon on the side of the map, as previously described in Bulletins and NeoGaf posts by Frankie and Jess (bsangel).
Wrap Around would have a lot of Chasms of death. So they likely fell down rather then went up.
It confirms nothing. Maybe the players were jumping to their deaths.
If you had read my post, all facts point to them hitting the ground. And I don’t mean the Requiem below, I mean the floor of the Solar-harvest Installation.
Believe me, I don’t want to believe they actually kept fall damage, given that it directly contradicts most of the other canon, but right now the facts point to it. I guarantee someone on NeoGaf is trying to get an answer from Frankie as we speak, and I’m continually checking there to see if he responds.
I really hope he says that fall damage is actually practical this time, rather than 10 feet = significant damage.
It doesn’t mean fall damage is back…
Maybe the grav lift is down there and if you miss you die? Kinda like narrows where you can fall off the bridge etc.
> Sir, I present to you; the definition of ‘aerie’.
Ok… so I’m not up on my definition for strange words I don’t see every day, such as ‘aerie’, it’s not a word I see or use every day, I might of heard it before, but that doesn’t mean I know how to spell it…

Doesn’t seem to have changed much? the first look we saw was at lest a month old from when it was made, also, the beta that was played in New York was a month old beta, things can change. Plus, Photos may say a 1000 words, but that image doesn’t say the whole story. Even if you’re right, and nothing has changed, I can still be right.

It could easily be holes in the map like in Guardian, as opposed to long distant falls.
They definitely fell off the map…I doubt there will be fall damage.
However, since they are Spartan IVs and wearing -Yoink- armor, it could happen.
