I’m curious what your thoughts are regarding the planned content (if any) after Warzone Firefight. Maybe this was already answered somewhere or perhaps mentioned, if so, I missed it. The currently planned content drops lead us up to July, assuming Memories of Reach drops as planned in May and Hog Wild in June.
Are they going to stop updating the game and focus on the next iteration of Halo? Or are they going to continue feeding us content for a full year leading up to November/December?
Personally, I’d like to see more maps. There aren’t nearly enough maps and the current selection is hit or miss. It’d be nice if they continued the cosmetic items like weapon skins and armor but I think the community has been begging for better (classic) map selections… among a myriad of other things lol.

I actually think they said, back when they talked about where the income from REQ packs go, that they have planned up to June at that point, then we’ll see how much further REQ income will take us.
So if things are looking good, then the REQ will have rolled in enough dough to continue the free updates for some more updates.
They may just be planning it and more towards June, they’ll announce it because it becomes relevant then, more so than now when MoR is about to drop, and we still have Hog Wild and whatever else there was besides Firefight.

LOL, I’m afraid that’s exactly what’s going to happen. Being spoonfed update after update, new content, new content, new content, and then… poof. Like Halo MCC, forgotten and moved on to the next thing.

This is not true, please stop spreading misinformation.
Q: It’s cool that they’re doing free DLC maps, but why does it say “for the first year” I haven’t been following the game closely, due to mostly a media blackout, but did we know this already?
A: Literally a boring accounting rule. Fiscal year.
So far, we only know the DLC plan up to the release of Warzone Firefight, which might not even release in June. It could be earlier or later depending on how much they’re changing following the beta.
Once we reach the end of the current DLC, we’ll see what’s coming next.

My only problem with that is I’m wondering how much will be changed from the current multiplayer to the next iteration. We’ve changed back and forth so much over the past 3 Halo games with the different mechanics. I enjoy the weapon balance of H5 and I enjoy the thrust/clamber ability, but part of me misses the old days. I wouldn’t mind going back to the H3 days but for me, Reach and H4 were the oddballs of the group. I’d rather them take H5 and H2/H3 and mash them all together and forget H4 and Reach multiplayer aspects altogether. Just my opinion.

I suspect there will be something. It wouldn’t make sense from a marketing standpoint to completely stop production on any new content updates all of a sudden unless the game was a commercial flop.
I also think that we will finally get more permanent social playlists after the final “scheduled” update, Hog Wild. It would make sense to add in permanent social playlists like Team Action Sack or something at that point. The weekly playlists are a good way to “beta” test population, feedback, game balance, etc. so by then, they should have enough information and flushed out game modes (Team Rockets, Shotty Snipers, Fiesta, Super Fiesta, etc.) to incorporate a permanent social playlist.

Isn’t that sad, though? I’d rather see constant updates instead of studios going back to the drawing board with every new iteration, which is what it seems like most devs are doing these days.

The only way I could see paid DLC, is if 343i wasn’t acquiring enough revenue from the REQ system. The REQ system kind of takes the place of paid DLC.
I sure hope there is something after hog wild…I’m pretty invested to the game financially and time wise…only game really in my xbox one right now…but I’m not much for any FPS outside of Halo…I know they have to start (or already started) building for Halo 6…I’m pretty happy with Halo 5 fix a few bugs, couple more maps, action sack, maybe a couple of more game modes and its the most fun had playing a video game all of 2015-2016…

I totally feel you. I’m heavily invested in the game financially and time-wise, too. It would be nice if armor, weapon skins, or anything really, carried over to Halo 6. I just don’t want to see a huge revamp of the entire weapon system or AR/Pistol combo. Those weapons finally feel like they’re worth something.
