Okay so I love, just love the Halo universe but a lot of it is starting to not make sense. So according to the Halo history, Reach was, out of all the games, the first to take place in the universe timelines, but it has armor abilities, certain weapons and vehicles that we don’t see I’m any other games, even though in Halo 1,2 and 3, we know when they take place these things exist. I am not asking for you to put them in all the games obviously but I am looking for an explanation. An article here on the website about a ship used for travel, told about how the UNSC stopped using it because it became to expensive. As long as we have an explanation like this, explaining why there are no falcons or DMR’s in Halo 1,2 and 3, I would be much happier. It explains that the flacon was the best way to transport tactical squads, but was never used again after Reach? It doesn’t add up, and I believe it would help if we got some explanations.
First of all, Halo Wars is actually the first game in the universe.
Gameplay always trumps the lore. Its unlikely there wasn’t a single AR during the events of halo 2. I think the DMR though is explained as primarily being an Army weapon vs the battle rifle being a Marine weapon. Possibly the Falcon falls into a similar spot since Pelicans are more versatile for naval needs, while the falcon has a smaller profile, and is quieter. Just because they aren’t in the game, doesn’t mean they don’t exist. We only see a very small portion of the halo universe at a time.
Thanks for the feedback, OP. We are definitely looking forward to exploring more things like this in the future in the new Universe section

^This. Plus, Reach had a lot of experimental technology. Technology that was lost when Reach was glassed. These things do eventually end up in Halo 4 but that’s four years later in the timeline, so Reach could have been, in part, re-explored to determine if it was salvageable, and some technology could have been recovered then.
Not an official reason why but it works.
I believe the reason why Reach has so many exclusive UNSC weapons is because these weapons are only really used by the UNSC Army, while in other games, we’re mostly hanging out with the Marine Corps.
Also, a Falcon can’t operate in space nor can it survive re-entry, like a Pelican can. A Falcon is strictly an atmospheric vehicle. And in Halo 1-3, Chief is almost always getting his supplies from a starship, which probably wouldn’t even carry Falcons at all unless the ship was meant to enter a planet’s atmosphere and deploy troops all around said planet.
Just because they don’t appear in a game doesn’t mean they still don’t exist in the universe. Unless it’s Retconned. There are a lot of inconsistencies with the designs between the games which are explained with different gun models and variations. Sometimes they are just changed with out explanation and it leaves us to wonder about it.
The Falcon like UrbaneRocket said is most likely a Army vehicle and not a marine vehicle. Sort of like how the UNSC army prefers to use the older model of the AR. (The Reach AR aka MA-37) and the marine corp used the newer versions like the MA5B, C and D. The DMR is probably an Army based weapon too, and it wasn’t until Post War era it came into mainstream for the marine corp as well.
I think the Falcon is in use on the Infinity. There was a promo image for Halo 4 with some Falcons in the backdrop.
The Falcon is most definitely in use on the Infinity, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t an Army vehicle. After all, based on the dialogue in Spartan Ops, members of all branches (Marines, Navy, Air Force, Army, and Spartan) were all stationed on the Infinity and were deployed onto Requiem.
I miss the fact that John’s blue team is not with him in the Halo games.

Plus they are unused in Halo 4 files and seen in the background in one of the old screenshots.
But anyway OP here is how I see it, the marines with Keyes at the end of reach had army weapons, we’ve been told that in extreme situations marines will use army weapons so with that said the PoA has army weapons on board. Halo The Flood The definiteve edition mentions them using a cyclops. So to get to the point, just because We/Cheif doesn’t see it doesn’t mean it wasn’t there.
The Battle of Reach was the pinnacle of Human and Covenant military might. Much of the technology was experimental and being researched on Reach’s facilities, and much of it was simply Army equipment. Reach was a unique battle in the Halo universe and Humanity’s armed forces weren’t the same after it was glassed.

Wo, really? Where’d they sneak that bit in.
