Falcon or Hornet?

Which one do YOU want to see in Halo 5: Guardians, hell why don’t we have both?

I liked the Falcon better for multiplayer since it gave the passengers a purpose. I would like it to have a gun for the pilot though, like how it did in the Reach campaign. The Hornet was good for transport and as a vehicle to face off against a Banshee, but it just didn’t have the same appeal for me. Blend them together and it works (only machine gun variants; not grenade launcher ones).

As a counter to it, the Banshee should be more agile than it is and a bit faster too. Maybe a new vehicle could be introduced on the Covenant or Promethan/Forerunner side that would function similarly to the Hornet/Falcon.

Falcon. This Helicopter-like contraption seemed to fit better with the style of the other UNSC vehicles. The Hornet seemed out of place for the UNSC, too futuristic in my personal opinion which several clashes with the faction’s overall style. That and the Falcon wasn’t extremely OP like the Hornet was. I’m sorry, but if you’re going to say the Mantis is OP but the Hornet is not, then you’re judgment is most likely clouded by nostalgia. While Reach’s Falcon obviously couldn’t put up a fight against a Banshee from that game, I do think it would be a fairly even match if you put it up against the ones from Halo 4. If Halo 5’s Banshees happen to be more powerful, then in that case I think they should redesign the Falcon into a transport vehicle. Allow it to carry six players (including the pilot), this way it would at least be useful for dropping off troops and escorting the flag carrier, at the cost of being not too durable.

I know someone who once utilized a glitch with Halo Reach’s forge (via spawn sequences), that allowed him to spawn the campaign Falcon. It was overpowered as all hell, with insane knockback that sent all Warthogs flying about and made it impossible for players to move from spawn without dying.

Hornet for sure. I’m pumped that it’s coming back for the MCC. While Halo 3’s default Hornet was pretty overpowered, the transport version introduced later on is proof that it can be balanced. And I’m almost positive that 343i are going to make sure the Hornet balance well against the Banshee and other vehicles in the sandbox for H2A MM.

The Falcon was an interesting concept, but if “because it’s a flying warthog” is the only reason people want it back, then they need to take a serious look at how (poorly) it balances against other vehicles in the sandbox, especially compared to the Banshee. It’s also way outdated as far as UNSC technology is concerned (the Pelican outperforms it in every way imaginable), and it isn’t much more advanced than the modern-day Osprey aircraft. The Hornet is a far more advanced/futuristic vehicle and just fits better with the rest of the UNSC arsenal.

I like the falcon. Its more team dependent. You needed passengers in order to fight.

Hornet all the way. I didn’t like the Falcon much at all. It’s controls were way too different to everything else, it felt cumbersome and it didn’t make for a particularly satisfying vehicle in campaign either. The Hornet was, in my opinion, downright fun.

Falcon.

Hornet is far too similar to the Banshee.

Maybe if they pushed the Banshee into a jet like role by making it a fragile hit and run machine reliant on outrunning or evasive maneuvers to stay alive we could have the Hornet as a sort of attack chopper like role.

It could use some tweaks, but I would easily pick the Falcon. The hornet felt like a Banshee with sleds stuck onto it rather than a unique vehicle in its own right.

The Falcon is also the closest thing to a Pelican that would actually be practical for core Halo multiplayer. Some changes would like to see for the Falcon…

  • Greater maneuverability(it felt fairly sluggish at times)- Countermeasures(if lock on weapons are present)- More accurate weapons for gunners with a wider angle of attack- Usable passenger seats with objectives- A balanced pilot gun- A several variants in forge(transport only, grenade launcher, default variant)

sparrowhawk

Why not both? To be fair the Hornet was absolute garbage in multiplayer after it got nerf in H3.

The Sabre is the real deal.

hornet or both

I’m for the Falcon, more durable and versatile

Honestly I would like to see a mix of both. Kind of like the Hawk but less OP.

It would look like the Falcon and carry passengers like a Falcon but it would be much more maneuverable like the Hornet.

If I was to choose though I would pick the Hornet.

I would love to see both the Hornet and the Falcon, but I would like to see the falcon more because it flies really nice and I like to fly as a transport pilot.

Falcon is love.

Give me a Longsword please.

Falcon first, then hornet

Maybe a new updated version of the falcon without the rotors. I do like the idea of a flying warthog, which is pretty much what the falcon is.

Also why hornet? Why not something we haven’t seen in detail yet, like the hawk?

Or the vulture?
