This seems to be a good a place as any to leave this question. Does anyone ACTUALLY know, not just their opinion, with justification, if the Falcon in Halo 4 will have the nose-mounted machine gun in matchmaking?
I ask this as it has no chance in battle otherwise as it has NO offensive/defensive capabilities other than dodging without a passenger. Basically the mongoose of the sky.

Thanks, having confirmation of no information is better than no information with no conformation.

the falcon was confirmed a while back in an image. but we do still know nothing about it as of yet, I assume in the coming weeks we will get a vehicle video from 343 with more details.
On topic though, No, I don’t think that the chin gun should be available with the falcon in MM. If you look at it in the Reach campaign, it is ridiculously powerful, kill a banshee in a three or four bursts. I think a better thing to add to the falcon would be to open up the transport seat for players.

I think the only problem with the passenger would be that (as it is the fastest vehicle currently) objective gametypes would require more defense against it. Possibly tone down damage for the chin gun, add more spread and light overheat?

I suggested that there be no chin gun at all(Except in campaign). If you add the chin gun to the falcon, it effectively changes what kind of vehicle it is. As the falcon stands right now its a vehicle that relies heavily on team work and effective coordination with the pilot and the gunners. plus the chin gun would maul banshees in MM, making it unbalanced.
I really hope the Falcon isn’t back, such a useless vehicle, at least the Hornet could carry somebody with an objective. Anything that was implemented in Reach shouldn’t return.

sorry but Falcon was confirmed back a long time ago. hornet is probably not coming back since the Falcon is in.
I don’t get why the falcon is in Halo 4. Why are they going backwards in tech? The hornet was better in every way I just think they should nerf it a bit but not as much as they did for avalanche in Halo 3.

Why would they bring it back? It doesn’t serve any purpose.

This.
Halo: Reach brought nothing worthy of a return. If anything 343 should look back at what was successfull in Halo 2 and 3.

You clearly don’t know how to use the falcon and don’t understand how dangerous it is.
343i is trying to please both sides with Halo 4(Although they seem to be pining to the Nostalgists more to me), people who liked reach get what they want and people who like halo 2/3 get what they want.

if 343 fixes the hornet, it will be VERY useful in the hand of a good pilot, and a laughingstock for noob pilots
i’d suggest that missiles can only fire once they are locked on, meaning that missiles can be only used against vehicles
which means that only miniguns can be used against infantry
and trust me, miniguns are fine, in h3 i DOMINATED the other team with teh TRANSPORT HORNET, which has NO MISSILES and WEAKER miniguns

The falcon is such a good looking vehicle. Its such a shame that its ruined by the lack of weapons. It annoys me that the scorpion is the only unsc vehicle that the driver can shoot. This isnt enough! IF the hornet doesnt return, there should be 2 falcon varients. Comat falcon has a chaingun, which rapid fires (none of the burst cr@p) and has rockets ttatched to the side, which you press “Y” to activate, and you can fire a set of rockets. There are no turrets on the sides, but passengers can still take a ride. Then the second varient is the passenger falcon, which is exactally like the multiplayer falcon from reach. I think thats reasonable. Dont say that its to overpowered because its not. The banshee can do tricks, which dodges lazers, it has a plasma turret, and fuel rod. However the combat falcon cant do tricks, which makes it easily lazerable. I think this is a good idea, as it will promote… a teamwork varient, and a combat self rely varient, in which 1 vs 1 will work. Its pretty pathetic that the falcon is useless unless yu have xbox live.
